If there was a flat %, then i can see how healthcare could eventually become free like Canada.. In theory it sounds like a great idea but i really don't think i know how i'd feel about it til it actually happened.. I mean, how many people here HATE going to the ER because they know they'll have to wait at LEAST an hour and most times more..

Remember that everyone in that room is PAYING money to be there, so they obviously feel there is something wrong with them..

Now think if you didn't have to pay for that visit.. the number of people in the room would multiply by at least 3 i'm guessing, which would mean you'd have to wait 3 hours minimum in that same scenario..

Unfortunately it's a tough area to argue about, because you hear all of the stories of people not going to the ER cause it's too expensive, but they actually had something wrong with them, and because they didn't go it got worse and eventually they died from it.. So you have those occurences in the back of your mind when you're saying that you don't want free healthcare.. it's a tough situation.

Although if you want free healthcare, Canada isn't that far away if you live here in the states
