Ezzard Charles was really old, and a naturally smaller guy in the first place, Joe Louis was comming out of retirement and he was really old. Walcott was already very old as well, and I might add that he was really outboxing Marciano, but he just was too old. IMO Marciano was in one of the weakest divisions the heavyweight has seen probably third after the heavyweight division a couple of years ago, and the holmes reign division.
well charles was 32--marciano was 30---not much of a big difference---2 say charles was very old--is a bit of an exaggeration. and rocky looks really small next to charles -yes walcott gave him a boxing lesson--but rocky was also blind 4 rounds-the 4 rounds which he lost to walcott --then got his eyesight back and won rounds.
louis heavyweight divion was the same quality as marciano's-
