Miguel Cotto Hasn't Even Reached His Peak.

I have seen mostly every single Miguel Cotto fight, and he seems to get better and better. Im a Mayweather fan and i think Mayweather would out point Cotto, but i think Mayweather should take this fight now rather than later. Because Cotto can only get better and better, Cotto has good boxing skills and good patient pressure i think he has the tools to give Mayweather a very tough nights work. Possibly one of the hardest fights of his career.

I was watching some Miguel Cotto fights last night.

I watched him beat Pinto, Bailey, Corley and abdulaev

and i have to say he has improved quite a lot since then.

I agree that the longer Mayweather puts this fight off, the harder it will get.

I do think that Mayweather would still beat Cotto but i believe that Cotto has a much better chance than Hatton and even Oscar had.

On a side note, i have to say i was alarmed at how often Corley hit Cotto with the suothpaw right hook. I wonder how Cotto would cope with a Luis Collazo. That would be an interesting fight imo. It would give an indication of how Cotto deals with a fighter with that much slickness and boxing ability.

I think Cotto is in the middle of his prime. In his last two fights we have seen the best of him so I dont think he will get any better but I dont think hes on the decline either.

El Gamo are you serious Past his prime, we just saw Cotto develop a jab fast enough to out jab the best jabbers out there, his handspeed is overlooked and underestimated but seeing him trade punches with Mosely shows he is just as fast if not faster. Well his strengths like his punching power and body punching will always be there add to his ever improving state Miguell Cotto will be the strongest and most RESILIENT fighter Floyd will ever face.

I had been concerned also with the quantity of punches that sometimes Cotto receives. I don't know how many of you saw his fight with Ndou where more than one time Cotto received 1, 2, 3 right hands. I was concerned because in that particular fight he could not adjust as I expected to avoid receiving the same punch repeatedly, and to be honest I thought that Judah or Mosley could stopped him (giving my Puertorrican feelings away). But, thanks God I was wrong and Cotto could adjust and won both fights. If you go even farther to previous Cotto's fight you will notice that he is taking a lot of more risks now to KO his opponents, and that is why he is taking more punches. But, definitely I believe Cotto keeps improving, and he will give a lot of trouble to anyone including Floyd, loosing or winning.

The only thing i can think of is maybe Cotto wasn't worried by N'Dou's or Corley's power and thats why he didn't mind taking a few. Even against Abdulaev he didn't mind taking some shots.

Thing that am most impressed with is how he reacts to being hurt. He deals with it brilliantly. That's the mark of a truly great fighter.

Just look him up on youtube... He is really just a freak of nature to be fighting at 147.. The guy is 6'2 with an 82 inch reach. Those are basically the measurements of a rangy HW. He has some excellent skills too. I think the reason ppl say he would be Mayweathers toughest fight is because Floyd has never fought anyone nearly as tall and rangy, who utilizes fighting on the outside. Corrales just plodded inside so Floyd had an easy time catching him, but against Williams Floyd would have to find a way to get inside and work hard, which is not really the way he fights... To be honest though, I don't see Williams beating him. Floyd might need to get his hands dirty more than usual, but he's a better infighter than Williams imo, he just may have trouble initially getting inside.
