These are all time great boxers, great KO power (and there are others in the list) and Laporte NEVER visit the canvas. I do not think that many boxers (if any) can say this, facing this kind of opposition. This is one of the greatest chins in boxing history, and had great battles with these names. One of my favorites was his fight with Chavez, and his KO win over Lockridge.

I remember LaPorte. Kostya Tszyu also whipped his a** early in his career.
Amazingly it was only Tszyu's 4th fight as a Pro!
Not that amazing if you consider that Laporte started his career in 1977 and fought Kostya Tszyu in 1992, when Laporte's prime was far, far away. I don't know if this is the only fight you have seen of Laporte, but definitely this is not the one to judge his merits in the sport. In addition, to the names I mentioned Laporte fought people as Azumah Nelson, Molina, among others. And, I am not taking anything from Tszyu because I was a fan of him also. But, Laporte proved to be a real warrior who lost most of those fights I listed, but presented a brave opposition, and also became World Champion. Try watching his fight with Chavez...
