I know the link states Kristjansen is fighting the flu.....

Khan is still fighting on that show. Its just that his opponent has pulled out. Thaxton should step in and they can make it for the Bristish title as well.

Khan's already in training so I'm confident that Warren will do what the whole nation of boxing fans want and make an offer to a South American with more defeats than wins to let Amir look good again.

I'd love to see Thaxton step in though.

I hope its Thaxton, it will be a good fight and Thaxton could prove if he actually has what it takes to beat Khan. I dont think he does and he will loose by stoppage. Khans good and hes looking better each fight.

that is a pretty good offer from then... and to be honest Khan looked shit hot last time outand Thaxton looked bad so for me if they dont take it there is some serious doubts on his stock as it is a fight he should win if hes all they say

It would be odd if he doesnt accept this and would need a very good reason not to or fights a much better fighter than Thaxton, thats not likely to happen though.

Domestically there are very few options othger than Thaxton. They could take a dummy from 140 to amke it seem that Kahn is a monster but I find it difficult to envisage anything but Thaxton.

Both guys want the fight, it's just that the promoters dont see eye to eye. The £400,000 offer would be to fight on Hennessey's terms and on sky, which they knew before making that Frank would never accept, no matter how generous. It's a fight I'd like to see, but at the end of the day Thaxton isn't even european level and he should have accepted the career high purse he was offered by Frank and have a shot at making a name for himself. Unlike a Haton-Witter or Haye-Macca domestic dust up, this fight doesn't need simmering and waiting for the optimal time, since if Khan proves his potential he will be way out of Thaxton's league in 12 months time.

I've seen it quoted somewhere, perhaps on BBC somewhere, happened just before the proposed purse bid, though perhaps the career high purse was only a couple pennys above knowing Frank. The purse bid was never going to happen since if Frank lost the control of Khan's next fight would have been in someone else's hands which he wasn't going to allow.

Yeah if the fight happens it will be run by Warren that's a cert.
