Very smart choice for Hatton i wanted Hatton to fight Rees glad he is. Because not only will he get a World title beating the limited Rees, he will also get a lot of confidence back which is the more important.

If he was to fight more regularly then I wouldnt begrudge him picking up an easy belt....but there are bigger fish to fry.
I disagree Miles after you suffer an embarrassing KO loss you need your confidence back. And beating the limited Rees and picking up a belt is perfect for getting your confidence back. Remember you can have all the ability in the world but if you don't go into a fight without the right mentality/no confidence. Then it doesn't matter if your the next Sugar Ray Robinson your going to lose plain and simple. The mental part of Boxing is one of the most important things in boxing and is always overlooked.
My issue is simply that Ricky has a shelf life of probably 5 more fights and Rees is not an opponent that will ever spring to mind when looking at a list of great achievements. The belt is irrelevant at this stage in Hattons career. Its about doing what you can with your time. If Hatton wants a warm up then he should get in shape and have one ASAP. A boxers shelf life is limited. Only so much time at that level for gimmee's.

I would much prefer a fight with Malignaggi or even Witter. Much better excuses for 6 months off.
