Their handspeed is about the same. Floyd has better footspeed and faster upperbody reflexes.
I'd rate Zab faster. (Actually I checked and Baldomir did too!)
However Mayweather coped very well in that sitaution.
If you pose the question: How would Jones have coped with a guy just as fast and possessing similar skills I've got to presume not as well as Floyd.

Skills beat ability for me, thats why PBF is beter Pound for pound for me.
And God I hate Floyd, but he's damn good.

And as I've said before:
textbook skills and form> than natural physical ability.

People might think I don't like Roy, I do but I find a lot of his recent quotes so contradictory and hypocritical.
With a record of what 36 KO's after the Hanshaw fight he came out saying: "I don't like to KO guys unless I really have to."

Now in the run up to this fight he says "I really want a knock out" "Only a knockout will do" and "a knockout would be the best birthday present I could get"
Zab only looked faster than floyd because zab would throw slow punches followed by faster ones...jab...jab,left
Floyd right leads that got to zab before he could move...not once did zab land a lead left...

that's and old optical illusion slow followed by fast appears to make the latter stand out more...
Actually It's not an optical illusion, it's a martial arts technique that was used by Bruce Lee and numerous others but was integrated into boxing by fighters like Lennox Lewis and SRL.
As I stated above Zab was said to be faster (at 147 at least) by common opponent Carlos Baldomir
