If you look at Trinidad's prime, only 4 guys made it the distance against him: Hopkins, Oscar, Reid, and Pernell.

Hopkins and Oscar both turned in great defensive performances. They had their speed and skills, so they were able to avoid getting hit with Tito's big punches for the 12 rounds.

Reid was knocked down 4 or 5 times, and the fight really should have been stopped before the final round.

Pernell ate Tito's biggest shots flush for 12 rounds, he let Tito land half his punches, and yet he only went down once, in the 2nd round on a flash knockdown.
And if you look at the punch stats they wern't one sided at all if i remember right Tito only landed about 30 more punches than Whitaker. Even though Whitaker did lose majority of the rounds he made the rounds tough for Trinidad. And Whitaker must of had a broken rib or something because he was virtually doubling over from Tito's body shots i still don't know how Whitaker took them shots. In fact even though Whitaker lost i think his fight with Tito adds to his greatness IMO.
