just read on espn.com that DLH/Mayweather II is almost a done deal, buuuuuuut that it's being scheduled for September, meaning one of two things.

    1. Oscar's gonna only fight once a year but pushed it back to September to get in the best shape possible (though i don't think he'd have to push it back that much)

    or

    2. Oscar's actually gonna keep his word about fighting two times next year , and well probably have the first fight in May, if he does do this, i mean he better fight a more than DECENT opponant in May, cause well i dunno, doesn't seem like there'll be enough time for the Cotto fight, but i really wouldn't hold the Mayweather rematch against DLH if he fights Cotto and actually beats Cotto, but i said IF

What makes you think Miguel can win really? Look at his speed and robotic style of fighting. Floyd will be landing flash punches from all angles in the book and not getting hit with more than 2 punches since he easily slides away or gets on his bicycle. As much as I really wish someone out there, including Miguel, could beat him convincingly, I just don't see Miguel being the one to do that.

So yeah, I rather see Oscar vs Floyd II which was far from being a complete dominance from both sides. There's a reason why it went SPLIT even though many experts and fans believed Oscar won it.
And what makes you think it will be one sided a la Tito vs Winky?

Delaying the fight until September is Floyd's preference, not Oscar's. Oscar wanted to fight on Cinco de Mayo again.

Because Floyd wants a break. He wants a few months off before he has to begin training. He wanted more than the usual 6 months off in-between fights.

Incredible,I thought Mayweather's body was "falling apart",I thought he"needed a break" etc etc? Prick. As for Oscar, well he seems intent on fighting 3 times,Forbes is being mentioned for May date.

Surly this is not about the money or exposure. Oscar feels he MUST avenge Bojado's loss!!!

Ive been trying to avoid this thread for a while. This fight is really gonna happen huh?

I feel deflated at the thought.
With Floyd's break and Oscar's age. I just see this being a very poor fight.

snap bruva...didnt even wanna read into it becuase i was praying it doesnt happen. Id actually just rather Floyd stayed retired until he fought Cotto. I mean i dunno why im even complaining i wont even have to pay PPV ill get it free....its just a bit of a joke this fight was exciting then but not now, Floyd vs Cotto should be in the works ffs!

I agree with you guys.I felt totally deflated too.ESPECIALLY with Oscar. I mean if he offers a fight to you,you take it,because of the $$$ you can make.He could have chosen someone else to fight, there are plenty of challengers out there.

This fight epitomises everything that is wrong in boxing. I thought the 2007 major match ups of Hatton Vs Mayweather, Cotto Vs Mosley, Pavlik Vs Taylor and Calzaghe Vs Kessler were a sign of things to come but to me this is just a huge step back. Boxing rematches ONLY happen for two reasons

    1) It was a great fight so the public want to see it again
    2) The fight ended in controversy (Bad decision, Bad stoppage, Bad cut)

DLH Vs PFB 1 was neither.

It was a terrible fight and as for those people who say name some other fighters that have more of a chance of beating PBF. It's not about that. He had his chance. He lost. So he should go to the back of the queue. It's as simple as that. If you want to take that argument to its extreme then Ali should have fought Frazier 10 times throughout the 70's because, well, he was one of only a few heavyweights who could have beaten Ali. DLH should be forced to fight a Cotto or Williams to prove his worth.

Anyway what it is with DLH ? The guy has lost three of his last five fights. Mayweather talks about leaving a legacy but if he fights DLH and not Cotto this will tarnish his reputation and if he loses (which he could do) then every ounce of respect that people have given for him after the Hatton fight will diminish. He has to fight Cotto or Williams
