Joe is guilty of getting comfortable in his own part of the world, not wanting to realize the epicenter of boxing is in America, nowhere else and it never will be. I really think he wanted to fight Jones before he was ruined, but was too stubborn to cross the pond. He was probably asking himself questions like why won't Roy come over here. Why should Roy of gone over there? So for all Calzaghe's greatness he has shortcomings, just they're not in the ring .

Thankfully Hatton isn't that stubborn
Look at hopkins career and look at joes. Looking at the two together you'll never get me to believe that Hop ducked Joe. They both had oppurtunities to make big fights but only hop made them joe didn't. He ducks people. Joe isn't dumb. He knows America is the epicenter of boxing and hes known for years that if he wanted to make it really big he would have to come over but he didn't.I think thers a little more to it than being comfortable.
