Joe C,how can anyone NOT like this guy. Awesomely talented and fights ANYONE out there. Destroyed his 2 nearest challengers, unbeaten, about to kick B Ho's ass*hopefully* and listen,Pavlik is a monster, anyone that stands and trades with him is long gone,BUT I'd make a sig bet with anyone here that Joe would beat him or JT for that matter. Too many angles, too much speed for either of them. B Hop will be the toughest fight imo.

Great to hear him fighting for his legacy though and not calling out retired dudes or dudes 2 weight classes below him

Calzaghe beats a past his best weight drained Chris Eubank,A lucky win over Robin Reid,Richie Woodhall,Old Charles Brewer,Omar Sheika,Byron Mitchell,An overhyped Jeff Lacy,Hat off to him for his win over Mikkel Kessler but now he is fighting 43 year old Hopkins and now people are talking of Calzaghe being top 20 of all time don't make me laugh.

Come on fella, that's a haters opinion if ever i saw one. You can pull apart practically every fighters record like that. Can't be bothered going into all those fights but you beat who's in front of you. To use RJJ as an example:

John Ruiz (picked the smallest and weakest of the heavyweights just to claim a title)
    McCallum (ancient)
    Toney (weight drained)
    Hopkins (green)
    Malinga (old)
Plus throw in several nobodies and you have one destroyed record.

I'm a big Roy fan and know that's mostly bulls##t but you get my point.
If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

Uhh McCallum after he lost to Roy Jones had his 3rd fight with James Toney. And gave Toney all he could handle and shortly before Jones fight he won Light Heavyweight title so he wasn't that ancient.

Ruiz weighed over 30+ pounds more than Jones, and when Jones won Heavyweight title that achievement had not been done in 106 years.

Toney was top 3 P4P fighter when Jones beat him, and Toney has always had trouble with his weight. Its still impressive how Jones dominated him.

It makes me laugh when people say Hopkins was green, but forget that fact Jones had even less fights than Hopkins.

And what do you mean Malinga was old ?? only 1 year before Jones fight he fought Nigel Benn, and a lot of people thought Malinga was robbed against Benn, and he also fought Eubank and only lost SD. When Malinga fought Jones he had never been stopped. And plus after Malinga lost to Jones, Malinga went on to out box a prime undefeated Robin Reid, and also Malinga went on to out point Nigel Benn in there 2nd fight. So your comments are false and totally wrong.

Im not as such slagging the opposition i making more of a point about people saying top 20 of all time. When Mayweather beat Oscar people were saying he would probably be in top 15 of all time this is a undefeated 5 weight world champ now there saying Calzaghe could be top 20.

    This list isn't in order.

    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Floyd Mayweather Jr
    Harry Greb
    Jimmy Wilde
    Henry Armstrong
    Willie Pep
    Muhammad Ali
    Sam Langford
    Joe Gans
    Archie Moore
    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Jack Johnson
    Roberto Duran
    Joe Louis
    Benny Leonard
    Gene Tunney
    Sandy Saddler
    Micky Walker
    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Thomas Hearns

Theres 20 boxers who will always be rated higher than Calzaghe i think people are going over the top. And are forgetting about other great fighters from the past. In fact i could name another 20 boxers who all have a case to be rated higher than Calzaghe.

That sounds well and good, but it's probably a hard fight to make, especially if Pavlik wins. It seems the plan is already set for Pavlik to go back to 160 after the Taylor fight, win or lose, to defend there for a little while. The only way it could happen is if Joe would be willing to come back down to 168, as I don't see Pavlik moving up to 175 at this stage of his career. Now, a Taylor win might make things more doable. Taylor had planned to vacate the 160 division anyway, and he might be more willing to go all the way up to 175 since that would be far and away a bigger money fight than anything he could get at 168. We'll see. Joe going up to 175 complicates things in terms of fighting the Pavlik-Taylor winner.

When it comes down to the crunch, who will be more marketable Jones Jr or Pavlik/Taylor?
It's all about $ these days and Joe Balls while well off hasn't made anywhere near the money he could have if he fought in the States earlier than he is with Hopkins. Nice comments from Joe but in the real world a Calzaghe V Jones Jr fight is going to sell it's ass off.
