I will second that. It is a tough fight for him. He should not be looking past Hopkins but instead should be concentrated on how to beat him. Hopkins at 42 and still at the top 10 on the p4p list is Willie Pep like. Wow. Personally I think Pavlik would knock out Joe C. He is the hardest puncher he will face Kessler can hit but not like Pavlik. Pavlik has better tools and foot work than Kessler and is allot ore rangy and doesn't tire. But then again he has never went past the 8 th round.

Kessler was throwing power punches all the way up to round 12. watch round 12 of the fight, it was joe's least competitive round in the whole fight. I think Kessler has a better jab and fundamentals than pavlik, but pavlik has the bigger punch.

Come on fella, that's a haters opinion if ever i saw one. You can pull apart practically every fighters record like that. Can't be bothered going into all those fights but you beat who's in front of you. To use RJJ as an example:

John Ruiz (picked the smallest and weakest of the heavyweights just to claim a title)
    McCallum (ancient)
    Toney (weight drained)
    Hopkins (green)
    Malinga (old)
Plus throw in several nobodies and you have one destroyed record.

I'm a big Roy fan and know that's mostly bulls##t but you get my point.
Uhh McCallum after he lost to Roy Jones had his 3rd fight with James Toney. And gave Toney all he could handle and shortly before Jones fight he won Light Heavyweight title so he wasn't that ancient.

Ruiz weighed over 30+ pounds more than Jones, and when Jones won Heavyweight title that achievement had not been done in 106 years.

Toney was top 3 P4P fighter when Jones beat him, and Toney has always had trouble with his weight. Its still impressive how Jones dominated him.

It makes me laugh when people say Hopkins was green, but forget that fact Jones had even less fights than Hopkins.

And what do you mean Malinga was old ?? only 1 year before Jones fight he fought Nigel Benn, and a lot of people thought Malinga was robbed against Benn, and he also fought Eubank and only lost SD. When Malinga fought Jones he had never been stopped. And plus after Malinga lost to Jones, Malinga went on to out box a prime undefeated Robin Reid, and also Malinga went on to out point Nigel Benn in there 2nd fight. So your comments are false and totally wrong.

Ice Im with you on the Malinga fight.Prepare to laugh but I think that is one of Jones beat performances and a highlight reel one punch KO vs. a very under the radar clever and capable Fighter.

On the other hand,There is no question McCallum Vs. Jones was a match of "today vs. yesterday".I rate McCallum amongst my top favorites all time and yes He won Lt.Heavy belt,But he also Lost it prior to Jones fight.Somehow the crooked polotics saw fit to claim Jones as interim Champ and match the two for Tiozzo's stripped title...after Tiozzo had defeated McCallum.Their fight was almost a glorified sparring session with the exception of last couple of rounds...Jones showed waaaay to much respect ,It looked in the last half of the fight that McCallum had his hands tied to his feet, this was the proverbial crossroads fight with Jones coming in off sensational streek hitting his stride and McCallum watching the sun set on an outstanding career.
That Toney vs.McCallum third fight was alot of Mike displaying his ring wisdom and technical prowess and Toney being sandwiched in between 2 losses and displaying his all to often prowess for being undisciplined with condition at that point. The fact that it was McCallums last fight...? Not trying to break balls Ice & you know I love the insight ya bring but I respect Mike To much to stay zipped up & lead anyone to believe that Jones defeated a top notch McCallum at that late stage.

Jones does deserve all respect for Victory over Hopkins in what was a great matchup between two fighters that anyone with eyes could see were going to be something special. The only green I would concede would be Hopkins lack of Jones amateur/Olympic pedigree and career. Those were Hopkins full throttle days when he tried to remove fighters from there senses,a little raw yes but Hopkins non the less.Arguably Jone's biggest victory.

    Morrison
    Moorer

you saved me writing all of that myself.

Yes and unless im missing something Pavlik is a middle weight , i presume he will move back down to MW after his catch weight fight with Taylor . Bareing in mind MW is the glamour division , and super middle always has been a joke division.
I really dont think Calzaghe fans should get to carried away , Pavlik hits harder than anyone Calzaghe has fought , and B-HOP is a more schooled fighter than most even at 43 i give him a shot .

Im not saying McCallum was in his peak or anywhere near it, he was at his peak when he destroyed Curry with devastating left hook. All im saying is that McCallum was still a good fighter, and Tiozzo was a pretty good fighter he destroyed Dariusz Michalczewski.

Nah Lewis is hailed as the greatest heavyweight ever by George Foreman who beat evey guy he ever fought . If Joe beats Hopkins it will be looked back in hindsight as Joe just beating a washed up 41 year old.
