The reason he isn't fighting him yet is perfectly simple.

At the moment Witter is only really known by hardcore boxing fans, even in the UK.

In March he is fighting on HBO. If he impresses he will most likely fight Malignaggi. If he impresses again. he will get his shot.

Hatton has just fought the best fighter on the planet and the payday he recieved was out of this world. So basically his next high risk fight will have to be a super fight again....one that will earn him a lot of money.

If Witter keeps impressing on HBO, The showdown with Hatton becomes a super-fight, especially in the UK. Hatton's camp are smart enought to realise that the longer this simmers, the more lucrative it becomes....especially seen as tho both these guys can clear up at 140 between them.

That's all he is waiting for. He will fight Witter.....but probably not until next year.

Basically it's the same as what Mayweather did to Hatton.
