***Saddo clears his throat and stands up***

Hello my name is Saddo and i am a Witter fan.

i have been for some years now.

***Saddo sits down feeling relived that he has confronted his illness***

anyhoooooo ive been wanting this fight for yonks when Pinto pulled out i even asked team Hatton to take the witter fight as he had offered to step in.

they told me that he aint a big name with HBO etc etc... then they fought some no name which kinda didnt make there exuse to me valid.

last year for Hatton i said i would have been happy to see him fight Cotto, Mayweather or Witter as a fan it was the only main fights i was intrested in seeing.

He faced Mayweather and fell short of the task... so now i would hate to see him fight Cotto because if Mayweather Knocked him out just think what Cotto would do with his power

So that leaves the Witter fight STILL for me they are both the best in the UK it would be a massive event and Witter would fight him at 5 minutes notice always would.

also i have stated this a number of times and will again.... Witter has had to live in the shadow of Hatton for years because of his loss against Judah and for a world champ has never had the support he deserved.

they have both lost now and are starting to get a level shout from the fans as it should be IMO

Hatton Witter is a fight that should happen Hatton Fans want it Witter Fans Want it Witter wants it.... that just leaves Hatton and i dont think he is doing himself any favours by not making it.

As a hardcore Naz fan in the day i feel like i have been here before... Hattons next opponent will speak volumes to me on what he is intrested in.... Legacy, Fans, Retirement or Money

Saddo, you're one of the handful of Witter supporters I was thinking of, one of the guys that were calling for this fight before Ricky's loss.

.. just surprised how many have latched onto - Hatton is out-of-order ducking Witter all of a sudden.

    I have a question....

When Carl Froch wins a world title and calls out Calzaghe (which he will do). Will Calzaghe receive stick for carrying on with his quest to fight the bigger named fighters for much lesser risk?

If he gets knocked cold in his quest and goes back to fighting lesser men than Froch then Yes !

Calzaghe won the "world" title FIVE years before Froch turned pro.

Hatton and Witter were meant to fight whilst still at Brit title level stage. They have now BOTH moved onto world level and still haven't fought. Sick.

To be fair Junior has only just moved onto World level in 2007, in the year that Hatton fought Castillo and Mayweather.

    The fight will happen anyway.

I agree all the while Hatton is mixing-it with the very elite (Floyd) and fighting fights that would set-up that type of match (Castillo) then Witter should stay in the background.. BUT.. Witter has NEVER stopped calling him out over all these years and answered just about every excuse Ricky has made to NOT fight him.

Fans want this fight. Hardcore Brit fans have wanted this fight for YEARS.

If Ricky doesn't fight him, he'll go down as spending his entire career dodging Witter.

im a hatton and witter fan,i love ricky's non stop attacking style and down to earth nature, but i also like witter's style,he's kind of like naz,but i think hatton has ducked junior for nearly 8 years and junior would win...

witter is the best 140 pounder in the world

time for hatton to be a man and fight him...

I think the point you are missing is that before Hatton lost to Mayweather, he was arguably a p4p guy, and had set his sights on the Mayweather fight for some time. As long as he had Mayweather, or about a half dozen other WW's that he could've fought, there was no reason to pick a Witter fight OVER those prospects. Now it's about what's on the table for him. And it isn't a fight at welterweight. That leaves Witter, Malignaggi, Tores, Holt, not really marquee names by any means. I think it's just logical that based on recent performances Witter is the best fight for him, and has more of a case to fight the LINEAL champ than anyone else. Very logical imo, I think your overstating the whole fanboy aspect, people just want to see what is clearly the most meaningful fight in that division. Who doesn't want to see the ring and lineal champion fight another champion who is clearly the next best guy.

Hmm.. as it goes I understand the reason for starting this thread

I'm pleased to see so many, all of a sudden, seeing Witters worth.

Before he lost to Mayweather you could make a case that they were operating in two different leagues, Hatton in huge Vegas fights and Witter fighting in Doncaster. Hatton could make a legitimate case that HBO weren't interested in Witter so there couldn't be a fight. Now that Hatton is in a rebuilding phase of his career there's no good excuse. Even after the Mayweather fight I was saying that HBO wouldn't be interested in a Witter matchup but Hatton's next opponent (at least) won't be any more of an attraction to HBO, so there's no real excuse anymore. Still don't see it happening -- I think Hatton would have to lose to a non title holder before he's take it.

Witter could fuck up a train wreck. LIke the letter said, Witter has blown it every time he has had a big chance. Let him fight Judah. Witter sucks. He only made a name by calling Hatton out. That is the only thing I ever hear about him. "Hatton won't do this, hatton won't do that." He is a broken record. I have a suggestion for Witter if he wants a fight with Hatton. Fight a named fighter and look good doing it. Witter should do WHAT IS IN WITTER"S CONTROL. Like looking good in fights that he does get.

I am a neither fan but I want to see this fight because it is like a grudge match between the two-a real grudge match as opposed to those fabricated fights where boxers diss each other leading up to the fight. I am losing respect for Ricky the longer this drags on. Here's a champion, Witter, who is calling out Hatton, a non champion (though certainly worthy), and the latter is not taking the challenge. Hatton is being punked by Witter, or "herbed" as we sometimes call it where I come from.

"herbed" do you pronounce that with a "H" ............

Why is Ricky fighting Witter than big of a deal. He has suffered the biggest setback of his life probably and everyone is trying to get him to climb in with Witter on his first fight back.......and if he is as good as all of you claim he is then I say it is too soon.

I'm no huge Ricky fan but I think he deserves a little credit. He has been fighting good opposition i believe. Try not to be so fickle.
