I do not buy the argument that states Hatton dislikes Witter, therefore he will not allow him to have a pay day. This is the most absurd reasoning I have ever heard in boxing. First, if you dislike someone in boxing, it is more of an impetus to get that person in the ring. Second, if you are going to get paid while fighting someone you dislike, that is another impetus to get someone in the ring. So why doesn't Hatton make that fight happen? The only logical conclusion is that Hatton is afraid of losing to Witter, a legitimate threat. If Witter wasn't a legitimate threat, Hatton would take the money and run as anyone would. Hatton has too much to lose in a fight with Witter and I think his confidence level has been shaken a bit due to his loss to Floyd.
