yes i just got done watching mab vs jmm again, and heard once again how ridiculous those score cards where. I though mab won majority of the first half, then jmm dominated the 7th round but was floored at the last second(back to this round later). Jmm imo won majority of the second half, but the second half were more close rounds then the first as mab looked to had jmm beaten with his jabs.

Now as jmm began to come alive around the 4th round, 5th and 6th were still close. The 7th round was the turning point well up until mab came up with a brilliant straight right on jmms chin. With 1:32 left in the 7th round Jmm landed a huge straight right that had mab in trouble. Mab ofcourse battled back but Jmm again had mab in trouble between 55-50 seconds left into the round and almost had mab out of there but mab caught jmm with 46 seconds left in the 7th round with a short uppercut to stop jmm. That punch mab threw may have been what saved him from a stoppage, he showed why his a legend. Never easy to put him away, with little details like that his a fighter that must be appreciated for all time. Then that vintage barrera with 3 seconds left in a round where he was nearly put out and dominated, marco comes up with a huge straight right on the chin to put jmm on the canvas. Unfortunately Jay Nady didn't call it a knock down, if you guys look closely a guy in a blue jacket outside the ring infront of Nady signals not a knock down waving his hands in a fasion of "no knockdown sign". In the heat of the moment imo Nady was influence to react and falsely call it not a knock down. But before hand, marco mistakenly shows his mean streak and takes a shot at jmms head while jmm is on the canvas. Nady then compliments his mistake of calling a no knock down with a deduction to marco for hitting jmm while on the canvas. Crazy round but a great one that sticks out as one of the best rounds in recent years.

What did you guys think of the fight and the 7th round? I had the 7th round 9-8 for jmm, becuase i thought he won the round but i deducted a point cause he was knock down. I gave mab 8 points cause minus the deduction for hitting jmm while on the floor. So without the knockdown and point deduction it would of been a regular 10-9 round for marquez.

heres round 7:

One thing Rains before i reply to this is that you cannot score a round 9-8 on the 10 point must system. Anyway i thought this was a very close fight i wouldn't of been disappointed with 1 or 2 point victory for either man but the scorecards were ridiculous. A lot of rounds could of gone either way because mostly every round was competitive except for 2 rounds. I have only watched this fight a few times so i can't remember my exact scorecard but if i remember right i scored it a draw. One argument that i hate is the *Power Punches Stats*. Yes Marquez did have quite a big advantage in that department but the stats are very misleading because Marquez did out land Barrera in power punches in a big way in the one sided 7th round and another round i think it was the 10th ?? but other than that they were pretty even in power punches so that stat is very misleading. As for the knockdown in the 7th it was a terrible call by the ref and he clearly was in a good position to see the knock down, this is where i think we need to have replay for the ref in between rounds so the ref can see for himself if it was a knock down or not or etc.

Overall great boxing match that was slightly ruined because of the ridiculous scoring.
