F*** no........there would be race riots and law suits and more sharpton and jackson than you could shake a stick at!!!

This asshole is creating color lines in boxing. He's causing everyone who reads these boxing presses to look at boxing in black and white. That's really a shame because thats not what it's supposed to be about!

The bottom line is the guy just doesn't like white males....I've said this a thousand times before on this forum and the evidence keeps rolling in.
He keeps saying S*** like this abandoning all of his caucasian fans who bought tickets and videos and spent their time watching his fights and "talking it up about him to their friends."

The largest of betrayals, can't wait til someone retires his fat a**.
It's different for a white man to speak down about blacks because of the history of white oppression over blacks. Even though blacks are now seen as equal in terms of the law ( in theory) they are still greatly disadvantaged over white society in all parts of the world.

It's a similar situation to a woman being allowed to say things and even hit a man and it's acceptable whereas a man hits a woman and he better watch out.

So from that perspective it's clearly less acceptable for a white to make racist comments than a black, not saying it's right, it's just the way it is.

Still I don't see the big deal. It takes all different kinds of characters to make boxing interesting and the boxing world would be worse off without him.
That is the craziest thing that I have ever heard!!

So essentially you're saying that the way we correct inequality and racism in the past is with more inequality and racism?

So your basically advocating more inequality by saying that blacks have a right to treat whites differently becasue of slavery hundreds of years ago??
In other words you suggesting that two wrongs make a right.

This backward thinking is what started slavery in the first place!!!!

Glad to see that we are making progress

Why are you getting so worked up about this? Do you actually know what true racism is? Real racism is the subjugation and oppression of or discrimination against one ethnic group by another. As white's have historically subjugated blacks for the past 500 or so years then REAL racism was carried out at the hands of white men.

Consider the facts, enforced slavery, branding of their slaves and the slave becoming a piece of property rather than an individual. The complete taking away of human rights. Moving on to the present, even within the life times of many on this board, official, government authorised racism was practised in many areas of the world. Blacks even into the 1960's were segregated as they were in South Africa before Nelson Mandela.

It's not just blacks as well, the Jews have historically been a targeted race and the holocaust was an example of racism and genocide at it's very very worst.

Around the world their continues to exist real racism to this day.

To class James Toney saying a white man will not be heavyweight champion as being racism along the lines of the above is just absurd. It IS different for a black man to make comments about a white man rather than vice versa for the reasons I outlined in my previous post.

African Americans are not in a position to subjugate white Americans. The American economy, judicary, schools system, government, armed forces etc are all white led institutions.

James Toney saying white men don't have what it takes to be a heavyweight champion is as racist as someone saying Joe Calzaghe comes from a land of sheep shaggers.

If you think the latter is true racism rather than tongue in cheek banter against another nation than I feel sorry for you.

Real racism does exist and makes millions of people's lives a misery. I don't think it should be trivialised by bringing race into every argument.

All Toney said is no white will be heavyweight champ, Well guess what no black will ever be US President. OOhhh big racist I am..

Good example that woman who slapped the cop the politician because he woudldnt let her pass became racial why is that? She broke the rules which were to be identified hes basically a cop making 40k or so a year and he really doesn not give a s h i t hes just following and doing his job and he blocked her from entering so she slaps him? Unbelivable, thats not a racial issue his job is to not grant access to someone without an id. People love to fedd the s h i t though your right its not a total racist statement but you know it was said out of a bit of anger and arrogance by toney and he has to know its gonna get a reaction.

I don't think that is racist at all,in fact it could be true and it would also explain why me and my black friends train, same everything yet they grow stronger than me aaaaand, their muscles more defined/bigger than mine!!!!!

It's plain wrong........any twist you put on it. Who are you to tell me what racism is.........is your name Webster did you write a dictionary

I told you what racism is......it is simply treating someone differently than you treat others due to their ethnic background.

To assume that reverse racism is OK because of the way one group was once treated is ridiculous and promotes more (guess what....yep racism).

I never treated anybody poorly becasue of their color so now you're suggesting that I not get worked up over Toneys commetns

Who the fuck do you think you are

Do yourself a huuuuuge favor... get a history book and read it. To assume that blacks and jews are the only group to be discrimnated against is extremely narrow minded. Next time James Toney says some f*cked up S***, I'll be sure to come to you for a justification!

Ok it seems like we are going around in circles here. First off I never stated that blacks and Jews were the only races to be discriminated against I merely used two examples of real racism. It's probably a good idea if you read a post properly before you give advice based on an erroneous understanding of it's content

You didn't like my definition of racism, no matter I can just as easily prove my point using yours. You say and I quote '
I told you what racism is......it is simply treating someone differently than you treat others due to their ethnic background.'

Ok so using YOUR definition lets see if James Toney is a racist. Well he ceretainly did say derogatory things about Wladimir and white heavyweight boxers in general, it was negative I'll give you that.

But according to YOUR definition in order for it to be construed as racism it would have to be an attack by Toney on this ethnic group alone.

Ok just a few recollections from past Toney interviews. He said he was going to feed Rahman (a devout Muslim and also black!) a pork chop (unholy food according to Islam). Pretty negative but not really racist as Rahman is black, although you could argue he's also a promoter of religious hatred and intolerance.

Another example. He said that if he had the power he would kick out all of the Mexicans from the United States. So he's racist against Mexicans as well then!

Another example. He slagged of Chris Byrd for allowing his wife to manage him. Can't remember the comments exactly but they were not too nice regarding Chris' wife. So Toney is a misogynist as well then.

Another quote I found on the net, '“I didn't run from the situation. I didn't hide the ordeal from the reporters like the sissy baseball players. I fought it head-on. … We dealt with it. It's over. And now we're moving on.” Here we can clearly see he is also prejudiced against other non boxing athletes, and calling them sissys could certainly be construed as homophobic, so now we have evidence of Toney being anti-gay!

Yet another example regarding the HBO commentary team, 'Then you have these dickwads on HBO, Jim Lampley. Do you guys have a voicemail or email, an email for Jim Lampley? Well, get it and email me. These are f*ck b*tches, these are punk boys, *ssholes, c*cksuckers. You see they don’t even know how call fights. They kept saying he was hitting me, dude wasn’t even hitting me. You all saw the fight, what fight did you see? Did you see me slipping this guy's damn shots. From this we can see yet more extreme homophobic sentiment,

Some more Toney ': Steve Nelson, Hasim Rahman, Bob Arum, Top Rank - they could all suck my d*ck. They are all some cattle catchers. Bob Arum knows he lost that fight. Bob Arum had the nerve to say "I think we did enough to win.' B*tch you know you didn’t win that fight. Bob Arum, his wife got his balls. Please send this to him. Everybody in Top Rank is ballless, ballless pricks.

Here is an interesting accusation of corruption within boxing from Toney 'Somehow they must have paid the WBC to overlook the incident and then fight Oleg Maskaev. So, they are going to fight Oleg Maskaev. If he was a real champion and he really thought he won that fight, he would try to fight me right away.'

An interesting piece by Toney this time about the BLACK Shannon Briggs ' They had Shannon Briggs on ESPN, in the studio. This son of a b*tch had the audacity to say that everybody was scared of him to fight him. The punk b*tch, I saw you in Cancun last month and you were scared to death when I walked to you. You son of a b*tch come fight me. I'll knock your f*cking dreads on your f*cking back.

Here's what he said about Chris Byrd ' Media: What about Chris Byrd?

James Toney: I'll fight him, him and his wife. I got a girl, 185 pounds, ready to whoop her *ss and any other wife out there in boxing that’s trying to come to the sport. All of these wives out here are banding together. What's her name? Mosley's wife?

Media: Jin. I thought Jin was cool with you, the Mosleys?

James Toney: I'm cool with Shane. I don’t know her and don’t care to know her. And if Shane feels offended by it, f*ck him. I don’t care who I offend. If you like me, you like me. If you don’t, suck my d*ck. Shane and all these other guys who let their wives come in and try to control their minds - that's some f*ggots man. They got no heart, no balls, no backbone.

And finally here is a nice racist rant at another fellow black Antonio Tarver 'Antonio Tarver ain’t got no heart. He's from the south, country boy picking cotton baskets. He's got bubble gum colored lips.

Ok so according to YOUR definition not mine racism is when you treat one group different from another based on their race.

Well then I guess according to you Toney must be racist against every race on earth including his own!

Throw in misogyni, homophobia, religous hatred, resistance to authority and I'm suprised your not clamouring for him to be imprisoned immediately as a menace to society or at the very least deported to some far flung remote part of the world.

Seriously Toney, as I have said before talks a lot of smack and bullshit. You may not like it, I'm not saying you should but to say that he is racist against white people based on the evidence is just ridiculous. Toney hates everybody and everything, it's his way.

People who see racism in every comment and utterence actually only serve to exagerate and fuel the very thing they are complaining about.

Enough REAL racism exists in the world, it shouldn't be trivialised by attaching labels and making accusations against any Tom Dick and Harry.

Finally, let me leave you with a nice joke, that you can get all het up about.

In a school history lesson the teacher asks the class, 'Who said We will fight them in the air and we will fight them on the beaches?'

A young black kid says 'Winston Churchill 1940'

'Shut up you black c***!' says a voice at the back,

WHO SAID THAT??!! demands the teacher,

the voice replies 'Enoch Powell 1958'

The writer didn't mention that the things Toney said from the hip hop magazine was under a section titled "The 10 things I learned as a child" or something like that. It wasn't a blanket statement.
