Why can't we have more refs like Smoger!?!?

Oh, hell yeah... In fact, I remember yelling in my living room for Kelly to fire back because that was thin ice with 10 seconds left to go in round 2. I thought Smoger was gonna stop it... I really did. But it was a lesson to other refs that even though it may look hopless for a fighter.... It may not be the end. Let em fight!

Always remember Smoger at the end of the Augustus-Ward fight, you could tell he had enjoyed it, didn't he say something like fight of the year?

Lampley's always going on about how Smoger lets things go, I don't have any problem with that early in fights, like Pavlik in round two, wasn't any shot of him getting seriously hurt, people really only get seriously hurt by taking a long drawn out beating.

Smoger is definatly one of the better refs in the business....And POB is right he allows guys to fight like they should fight but makes sure they don't get hurt either.....I would pick Smoger to ref any big bouts with punchers

I think the refs like Smoger, Mercante Jr. and others who do fights in New York, AC, and Connecticut are far superior than those in Vegas.
