Heres me and 'The Bronx Bomber' Alex Ramos. 4 time NY Golden Gloves winner 77, 78, 79 and 80. I've met him before but now I got the opp. to have my picture taken with him. He lost all his major bouts but still was a solid guy who always fought his ass off.
PLUS what he is doing now for boxers is fucken PRICELSS and something that no one else is doing. You gotta love 'em for that.

And last but def. not least the crowd mobbed the annoucers area as soon as the fight was over people wanted to get their picture with Lennox and wanted hi autograph.
I wanted to take a picture with the fella but failed.... It was just nearly impossible to do it as people were allover him.






I did however managed to stick my glove and a sharpie in his face as he stormed out of the Ballroom and asked him to sign it. Lucky me he grabbed the marker and glove and signed it for me.

It looks like the ref jumped the gun a little on the Arreola fight. Still, does not look like a fight that wouldve answered any questions anyways. I would like to see Arreola in with a Brock/ Oquendo/ Ruiz...or maybe even a Ray Austin Just an average "good enough" heavyweight who wont be a total pushover!

I agree with you here I would def. like to see him get into the Gate holders boxers. Like Meehan, Sinan, Timor etc. etc.

Can't wait to see the Williams-Quintana fight, I missed it. I forget who said it, but someone on the forum said they would like to see how Quintana matches with Cotto again now that Quintana has some more confidence in him. I agree with that completely!

Not me, I'd much rather see Cotto-Margarito 1st. If the rematch is possible after that then by all means but not now. Quintana should set out for some fights and make some cash.

147 is so crazy right now, it is criminal that Floyd is out of the scene. The problem is, Floyd is so concerned with the number "0" that if any of these guys have a loss it will be his excuse not to fight them. Let's hope Cotto keeps that "0", it will be a difficult task with all these young and hungry top dogs in the division.

That's the thing that today not ONLY are boxers concerned with the "0" but so are the fans. Some people here can't see oldschool fighters with some losses because right away they down play them and take from them. Greatness is not measured by a "0" in your record greatness is measure by many different things. How a fighter copes with certain situations, how a fighter handles the BEST possible opponents, how he fights thru adversity those are just some.
That's why you gotta love fighters who step into the ring against the best possible opponents.

Some side notes from Saturday night.

- Max Kellerman after the fight came towards a crowd of people and started talking about the fight he thought Carlos clearly won. He said after every round he asks himself which guy would he like to be meaning who took the least punches and who looked better.

- Jack Mosley was there ringside shaking hands and as greatable and likeable as SSM.

- DiBella & Goosen sat next to eachother during the 1st non-televised fights then later DiBella moved seats. After the fight DiBella talked to some reporters about the fight and I caught a short video of him saying that Quintana told him in the dressing room before he walked out that he was leaving that place as a champion.

- Michael Trabants corner appeared as they were gonna throw in the towel and waive off the fight but one of the corner men pulled the trainer down and speaking in German I guess they decided to let it go on. In the rest period Raul Caiz Jr. (cool guy by the way and shared a quick talk with him) walked over to the corner and talked to Trabants trainer I believe Raul waived it off and not the corner.

- Lennox Lewis has huge fucken hands and is fucken tall. Also Lennox was the only HBO host who decided to have his make up put on as he stood. Lennoxs body guard looks like Lennox. As Lennox signed my glove I said to him "Undisputed Heavyweight Champ" and he laughed as he signed it.

- Where the fuck was Pacstraightleft? I looked for his ass all around the room walked around twice he said he was gonna wear a red jacket I asked 2 guys 'Are you from Saddo?" they both said "No" I felt like a fool....
Something tells me he didn't go after all.
