An equipment recommendation really depends on where you live. IF you live in USA, I could recommend lots of equipment. If you don't live in USA I could recommend some foreign websites but I haven't used their equipment. The welding solutions offered above will probably work, but I would also look at why your brackets are breaking. Perhaps their not stable enough and the vibration of punching is putting too much stress on them.

Thanks for you help guys I'll tell you what I have done I contacted a local engineer who made me two angle iron bracketts which bolted to a 600x 600 piece of kitchen worktop 40mm thick bolted the whole lot to the wall it's 100% rigid & my son's happy thanks again for the advice
