I just finished 9 rounds, I have it 5-4 for Taylor. I cannot see how Pavlik won by those margins.

Great RBR Bilbo..Reps coming your way

Oh sure, I know and I do not deny that.

However, when you see this fight you will see that while it was close, Taylor could have conceivably taken every one of the first 8 rounds. They were close rounds, none were a landslide either way, but Pavlik looked sluggish and Taylor looked sharp and fast.

I never bought the argument that Taylor got a lot of gifts from the judges. i thought he deserved the 2 wins vs. BHop and I thought the Winky fight was a draw.

Imo the judges fucked us out of a trilogy and what a trilogy it would have been.

For what it's worth, ESPN had 3 people scoring the fight.

    116-112 Taylor
    115-113 Pavlik
    114-114 Draw

Okay that is good I am excited to see it firsthand and I will probably agree with you as I prefer the boxer every-day.

I am actually sorry JT lost.

I can't see anyone scoring this for Pavlik unless they wanted Pavlik to win. It was a close fight and no robbery, but really can't see how Pavlik won a UD.

It was much closer in the middle rounds. Taylor could not land enough to win. Some of the scores were wider than i would have thought but Pavlik def won.

First off, good job Bilbo, secondly, FOTY candidate? Third JT has nothing to be ashamed of. Fourth the fight was real close, closer than that one judge for sure. Lastly Lampley was once again wrong in saying JT would be over if he lost, I dont think so.

Good, close fight. 117-111 was a bit too wide, but I really can't see how anybody gave that to Taylor. Pavlik landed more jabs, power shots, and total punches in every single round. Taylor got his licks in, and to an extent redeemed himself, but the decision was sound, in my opinion. Felt bad for Jermain though. He looked like he was about to cry again...

This post highlights the problem though doesn't it. You feel it was really close but wouldn't argue if taylor won the first 8.

With that logic if each round could go either way then you can't complain about rounds going the other way.

As it was Pavlik showed a little more urgency to me, especially over the last three rounds.

Very close fight but I think Pavlik did enough,

JT fought his heart out and actually fought a near perfect fight given the circumstances. He wasn't intimidated at all even though he was KO'd by Pavlik.

This was the best performance I have seen from Taylor to date. It is disappointing he lost this way.

I can't imagine why all 3 judges couldve scored such a close fight for Pavlik.

I think they all had the first fight in their head and thought Pavlik was going to score a KO anyways, but it never happened and JT outfought him in the process.

Cheers No Contest. I didn't think it was a particularly exciting fight though to be honest. Close and competitive for sure but hardly a barn burner.

It was similar to Calzaghe Kessler, a decent solid fight but no real explosive action.
