Ridiculus? Then your score must be ridiculous also since we just had a one round differential![]()
Look, if you want to say Taylor's fewer, power punches outweighed the sheer number of Pavlik's punches that he landed, explain to me how Taylor couldn't see after the fight and Pavlik looked essentially unhurt. Pavlik landed more and did more damage. Period.
People should stop throwing around the word "robbery," it really devalues it.
Robbery= Roy Jones Jr. at the Olympics, not Taylor losing to Pavlik. Just because you thought he won doesn't make it a robbery, especially when you can find just as many, if not more, people who believe Pavlik won.

I'm not even a Taylor fan. I thought he would win tonight and I thought he won tonight. That is all.
But I know the Pillsbury dough boy has a large following due to his pasty skin, smooth bald head, and over reliance on the one-two combination which if his opponent moves his head is completely ineffective.
Taylor outclassed him tonight. Believe me i could accept it if he was really beat, but turn down the volume and watch it and get back to me those of you who thought kelly won this fight.
i thought pavlik won. he backed taylor up most of the fight whle landing considerably more punches. there were long stretches where taylor was simply not responding to pavliks patient aggresion. pavlik basically controlled the pace of the fight with his jab.
taylor did look quick though, and countered well. probably the 5 hardest punches of the fight where landed by taylor. but after that it was all pavlik.

"I thought he was doing a pretty good job," Taylor said. "I knew it was a close fight, but I guess he won the last couple of rounds. He's a strong fighter, and I give him a lot of credit." That's taylors words from espn so even he doesn't seem to have a problem with the outcome.
I didn't even bother reading further than this as I see things exactly the same way. I think the problem is, people probably judged this fight with the result of the first fight in mind... When the fact is if this had been the first time they met, I think most(even though who saw Pavlik winning) tonight would have seen Taylor as the victor. I thought he clearly outboxed Pavlik in most rounds. Pavlik looked fairly crude overall, he landed some good shots but Taylor easily had the edge in power punches and used his jab far more effectively. I actually bet my friend who I went to see this fight with, that Pavlik was going to win, and when it was over, I told him he didn't owe me the money. I was sure Taylor would get the decision especially since HBO has shown to like him in the past. Sure wasn't the case tonight.
