I still regard williams as a contender but i don't think anyone will fear him anymore and imo that makes him more likely to lose

The problem with Williams moving up is if he can't punch at WW, he may have even less power at 154 especially because he arm punches and doesn't use is weight properly. If he punched correctly, the power would follow him up in weight, but since he slaps, power won't carry. He's a guy who relies so much on workrate and size advantage.
One the other hand, 154 is more open, less talent overall. It would be interesting to see in him with Vernon Forrest.
Williams would still probably look good against a guy who stands in front of him, a power puncher/pressure fighter type.
But he just doesn't look comfortable against guys with good movement. Thought he looked very poor against Quintana. Pushed his jab, looping punches, nothing to the body.
Williams problem was more defense than offense. He's a sucker for the left hand.
Williams figured that his awkward style would be tough for Quintana to adapt to.
And it turned out that Quintana's style was harder for Williams to adapt to. Quintana even faded in a couple rounds and Williams still couldn't capitalize as his punches were long, loopy, and didn't have anything behind them
