Fact is there is no voice of boxing as there was in the 70's with Howard Cosell.

...Cosell knew fuck all about boxing...he was friends with Ali and that was it.

He had a great voice but he knew NOTHING about boxing

Well I read the first page and skipped the rest, hope you guys don't mind. LOL

I like Max, he sertanly knows his stuff. I like his enthusiasm in the fights and I also like the fact that he stands his ground and if he thinks the other commentators said something that does'nt make sense or he does not agree with, he tells them straight out and gives his reasons.

As someone else said, he needs to work on his interviews. He sometimes asked some pretty dumn questions and / or repeats a lot of the same questions. He also cuts fighters off sometimes. Merchant does that too and it pisses me off.

I respect Merchant but I was growing quite tired of his surmon-type speaches at the end of fights.

Lamp's and the ghost punches.On sundays I rewatch twice in the morn,Once for the action, and again for the Lampley Rah rah effects and Lol.
On Showtime though I think Nick Charles has to be the worst blow by blow commentators in the biz. He makes me sleepy.

I have always liked Beristein he is really knowledgeable and un-biased , been a fan of his since his ESPN days. Old school no one tops Cosell.

I hate to disagree with a ton of people on here but Max Kellerman and Lennox Lewis did a GREAT job the other night.

Even my friends who only watch the big fights said they worked well together. They were very glad there was no Larry Merchant.

Lewis is like Holmes, Never got the respect while he was around. But Unlike Lewis, Holmes still gets no respect and he was just as good.

The only thing I would disagree with is the bias of Al Bernstein's commentating of James Toney.It actually made me sick,watch the Toney vs Peter fights and Toney vs. Holyfield fight.I wouldn't put it past Bernstein that he would actually lick Toney's sack. Every little movement he made in the ring was genius to Bernstein. Sorry got a little nasty there.
