These threads are funny but at the same time i can see why some cotto fans are frustrated. If floyd hadn't fought hatton and fought cotto instead the hatton people would be bringing up this same tired complaint. The man just fought for christ's sake. If you don't fight every contender by labor day weekend then they are all being ducked Cotto has earned his shot and will eventually get it. There must be guys cotto is ducking as well cause gomez isn't exactly the only person outside of floyd cotto could face....where is all the threads crying on behalf of them ?? Where i am dissapointed in floyd is if you aren't gonna retire then us sitting through another oscar fight is a shame when cotto and others are available.

I agree 100% but the situation is we're in a day where fighters can make more money from fighting a lesser skilled/past his prime popular fighter, than he would from fighting a dangerous contender.

It's a shame but you can't even fault the fighters, because they are getting paid more to take a fight against an opponent who poses very little threat. If i was in their position, i'd do the same.

No real boxing fans want to watch the rematch but they are still putting it on. It gives Cotto a chance to make easy money and Mayweather is getting older and more chance for Cotto to kick his ass. Mayweather has no intention of fighting Cotto, he will retire before that.

First of all Mayweather isn't getting all that old... look at B-Hop he was 35 when he fought Trinidad and he still looked like a 25 year old... Mayweather trains too hard to lose anything(unless he takes time off) for him to loss anything substantial physically in the next 5 years. As for no real fan wanting to see Mayweather face Oscar... well if you don't want to see the fight, you can't call yourself a real fan because the first fight showed boxing prowess at its finest, two guys who are among the best fighters in the past 20 years faced eachother and they both showed more skill than almost anyone else out there. I can understand if people don't want to dish out 54.99 to see it, but you can go to a bar where you can watch it for the price of a beer or two... if you don't do that you either hate these two guys or you don't appreciate boxing like REAL fans do.

This week I was surprised when I read in a local newspaper Cotto saying that Floyd is avoiding him. This is the very first time I see Cotto challenging an opponent. I really wish this fight happens soon. This way we will not be speaking about he (Cotto or Floyd) won because lost some of his abilities, etc., and all those excuses that we (the fans) usually have for our boxers when they loose.
Puerto Rico, Small Island, Big Champions!!!

You can try and mask that this is a great fight all you want but the truth is Oscar is a part time fighter, who was good but never great and the novelty of the fight ended when they fought the first time. There are better fights out there and you would defend Mayweather fighting anyone.
