95-95 and boooos. 98-92 and 98-92 for John Duddy by the last two judges. Probably the right decision, and Smichet will certainly leave this fight with a whole heap of credit. I'm somewhere in between the draw and the wide win.

John Duddy said afterwards: "I had a good trip to Ireland and I think I was trying too hard to impress I think. My last few performances have been pretty decent. This is a learning curve for my career. Perhaps I have a lot more to learn as well.

Kelly Pavlik is a great champion, and he had 33 fights before his title, and I've had only 24. I wish I was smart enough to dodge all the punches, but obviously that's not the case. I'll listen to my public, listen to my training team, and see who to fight next."

Sounds like he's got the attitude of someone who deserves to do well... If he kept his defence up during the first 4 it looks like he would have won quite convincingly..

Good work Duddy!! A great win to tuck under the belt... Sounded like he was going to get slaughtered at the start.

He should fight another fight before fighting on of the lesser belt holders at middleweight like Sturm. Wait a lil while until Pavlik is weight drained making middleweight then we move in for the kill.

The only thing that I can confirm is that my breath....after plenty of beer and a glass or two of the vino....is indeed rank. As for amateur...certainly!
