New here, just wanted to say hello to everyone on a great forum. Been a fight fan for many years, one of old friend's used to fight(Greg "the Mutt" Haugen from Auburn ,Wa) don't know how many of you remember his wars with Vinny Pazienza? Those were exciting fights.
This should be a decent fight tonight. I'm hoping De La Hoya knocks out Mayorga.(I'm thinking round 5)Enjoy the fight everyone!

DLH will win this if he uses his head. Maybe uses a tactic like he used with Felix, except actually going all the way with it. If Ricardo has trainers that actually know anything about Oscar, then he will go after his gut. Mosley did this and it really slowed Oscar down in their second fight.

If Oscar gets cocky and tries to slug it out to prove something, I am pretty sure he will eat canvas. He is too rusty to trade shots with someone like Mayorga. If he uses his superior boxing skill though, it will be a walk in the park, as Mayorga is a horrible boxer. He is like the new latin version of Butterbean.

Here's the thing...I agree with pretty much all your'e saying...but I truly believe (& all will laugh) that if Oscar shows up like the Oscar against Hopkins...Mayorga is fwocked...but...BUT...the look on Oscar's face during the walk in...he just looked rather deer in headlightsish.

Yeah I am sure he has the pre-fight jitters.
After round 1 though when he finds his rhythm, which should come easy, he will be confident.
I know he has a lot on his mind unlike Mayorga. Afterall, he said if he gets knocked out he is gonna retire. I think he wants to go out a conqueror not a washup. Therefore he has a lot to lose. Too many people doubt his heart and his skill.
He is one of my all time favorite fighters, next to the koolaid man and chuck norris...
