majority draw, sounds like a bad decision
The Russian - IBF junior bantamweight world champion Dimitri “The Baby” Kirilov - kept coming, and coming, and coming! Relentless in his first title defense, the champion fought like, well, a champion. But the challenger - Cecilio "Boga" Santos - refused to give in, despite cuts over his left eye and nose. In the end, the judges couldn't separate them.Kirilov (29-3-1, 9 KOs) made a successful first title defense against Cecilio "Boga" Santos (22-8-3, 12 KO's) when their bout was declared a majority draw in the main event of Cedric Kushner’s Gotham Boxing and Steve Bash’s Bash Boxing event “The Russians Are Coming!” at the historic Roseland Ballroom tonight. Judge Bob Gilson had the 12 rounder 116-112 for the champ, but both John Epstein and Kevin Morgan had the fight even at 114-114, for the native of St. Petersburg, Russia.

Sal, suddenly all your rambling about Kirilov schooling Mijares sound.... Well absurd to be honest.
I just read 3 different reports and all 3 said it was a close fight coming into the late rounds.
I myself thought Kirilov would give Mijares a good fight but honestly after reading about this bout and seeing how Mijares is on his way up I just can't see how Kirilov would beat Mijares...
Now I would much rather see Montiel vs. Mijares.![]()
