I don't think Floyd's heart is in the sport anymore. To me, he does not seem willing to take any more real risks. Everyone keeps saying, well wait for him to fight Cotto in 2009, but I don't see that fight ever taking place.
Floyd is on his retirement tour and just wants to cash out at this point without risk (just like Oscar). With guys like Cotto on the rise, he just looks at them as too risky. It is not really about money in my book, but money demands is the easiest way to back out of the potential matchup.
From his interview with Merchant after beating Hatton, you could read his intentions under the surface. Lets face it, Floyd is not getting any younger, fights sporadically and is vulnerable right now. All the talent in the world is not always enough when you have a guy facing you who is willing to go through all stops to beat you. It is all about hunger folks.
