    Default Witter calling Hatton's bluff

Hatton came out and said that Witter priced himself out by asking for 30%. Now I don't know what to believe because Witter just came out and said the following on BScene:

    "I'll fight Hatton for peanuts."

"This is not about the money - it's personal," Witter said. "The pay-day is not even close to what I was getting for going out to America. I would have got well over twice as much to fight Demetrius Hopkins over there. But I'm prepared to take it just to knock Hatton out for his cheek. It might be all about greed with some people but not me. If that's what they think I'm worth then fine I'll take it just for the chance to finally put Hatton into retirement."

Mick Hennessy said: "I spoke to Golden Boy Promotions in the early hours today and they told me that the Lazcano deal was not done yet. So my understanding is there is no contract signed between the two; the venue is not sorted as of today; HBO (American TV giants) have not confirmed they are covering it and it's not the fight the paying public want to see - which is Witter v Hatton. Junior is happy to jump in and take up their peanuts offer because he isn't greedy."

Hatton is a little bitch if he doesn't take the fight now. There are no excuses. This guy has been feeding off of Tszyu's name for three fucking years. I don't understand how Hatton is acting like he's the king of boxing after he just got KTFO. Personally, I think Hatton has a good shot at winning but this blatant ducking is making me think Hatton doesn't think he can beat Witter.

Hatton fears Witter. That's become pretty obvious. All of Hatton's excuses are just that. Excuses. There is no good reason why Hatton won't fight Witter. Other than fear. Witter is ranked second in the 140 division. He has a title. And he's not over pricing himself. What's the fucking hold up?

I dont often agree with your opinions but you are spot on here. WItter is pretty much considered the number 2 to Hatton in the light welters.
Hattons excuse for not fighting Witter cos he doesnt deserve the pay day doesnt wash with me.
After losing to Mayweather, Hatton stated fighting wasnt about the money, but the challenge. Well Ricky, the public consider Witter to be the biggest challenge in your division, so get the fight made, wipe Witter out and that will be the end of it.

Yeah, this is somewhat ridiculous. Hatton should just fight the dude and put him in his "place" for being so "disrespectful" for years. If Witter will fight him for these peanuts, then what the hell is Hatton's problem?

I really liked Ricky, but he seems to think he's some sort of legend that can dictate everything to his own liking. This loss to Mayweather, IMO, has shaken his intestinal fortitude to some degree, and I wonder what he'll look like in his next fight. He can't avoid Witter forever, or even his die-hard fans will question him sooner or later.

Hatton WILL fight Witter, just when the time is right.

Why do you think he ain't fighting him this May??

Hatton is low in confidence from the loss whearas Witter has that style to cause Hatton problems and Witter is very confident and Hatton needs a win or two to get his confidence and belief back up and then Witter will get KNFO, it really is simple.

Hatton hasn't said he'll never fight him. Hatton pretty much said he will...just when he wants it.

I think if Ricky beats Paulie and Witter were to beat Rees or Torres, then Witter vs. Hatton will be massive.

I should point out though, that Witter is avoiding the fight with Wlad that I've been calling for for years.

In reality at this moment in time a fight with Witter would not be a smart move.
Ricky's style is well known, he uses every ounce of his physicality in order to win fights. Coming off a fight where he used everyhting he had only to be beaten, he has to have been feeling not only physically expended, but also emotionally and mentally drained.

It is therefore not unreasonable for him to take a confidence builder prior to stepping back in with legitimate world champions. Junior's style, although ion my opinion, not sufficient to beat Hatton, is capable of making Hatton look slow in Victory, is not a style Ricky want's to confront on anything less than a full tank and a equal reserve of confidence.
Fighters such as Zab Judah take booster fights after their losses in order to get up for greater fights, what makes my man Ricky any different?

I believe a fight with Witter should indeed happen, however Witter is foolish If he has indeed pulled out of a Hopkins fight as it would have been that win in my opinuion that would have secured him the Hatton fight with an adequate purse. Witter may indeed negotiate himself into a fight in which he fights for peanuts. That may be a plan of the Hatton team.

    Hopkins pulled out not Witter.

Says it all, Witter was getting over double the pay fighting Hopkins (if he hadn't bottled it) than what Hattons mob tried to fob him off with.. and he's still willing to take it

    Hopkins pulled out?
Why was that, do you reckon he took the fight thionking witter was a walkover and on reflection he decided he'd better back off?

He had an argument with B-Hop and as a result D-Hop didn't want to be involved when B-Hop was. Promotional financial dispute. Boxing News said that anyways!

Hopkins fell out with his promoters Golden Boy.. so the fight couldn't happen. but then made out he never knew the Witter fight was planned anyway.. and best fight someone else

Problem with Lazcano is he lost to Castillo ( who Ricky destroyed ) and he also lost to Harris who Witter destroyed so its a sign how far Rickys fallen to take these kind of fights .

For teh record , I thought Rickys style would smother Witter and eventually hed wear Witter down but watching Witter vs Harris again I think he may do to Hatton what Floyd did especially when you consider he hits harder than the Yank .
