THAT WAS THE BOMB! Gotta be fight of the year! The 12th round won it for Vasquez, that was right down to the wire. Thats top 10 all time material right there. Still buzzing from that fight, everything was in that fight. I hope these guys get a PPV if they are going to fight one more time....wow what a war.

Well said. No one lost that fight IMO.
I will say this, Marquez better be thankful there wasn't 30 sec. to a minute left in that fight. Vasquez was on a seek and destroy mission in round 12.
I can't wait till #4. They should get paid a ton of money for another one.
Fight of the decade so far for me. Will be hard to top that one.
I haven't been that excited watching a fight since Corrales vs Castillo 1. What an amazing fight that was, it was so exciting that i even made some mistakes when scoring and i couldn't keep up when typing because it was such an awesome fight. It is a shame that the ref had to get involved and take a point away from Marquez for no good reason at all. Vasquez is a damn animal even when he was badly floored in the 4th he got straight back up and wobbled Marquez straight away that was incredible. And Vasquez also reminded me of Julio Cesar Chavez going after Meldrick Taylor in the 12th round of there right. I thought Marquez out boxed Vasquez in the first 6 rounds by using his surperior jab and movement, but Vasquez's constant pressure wore down Marquez and he then started to make it his kind of fight. All i can say is well done to both Marquez and Vasquez for such a great fight and one of the bests fights of the decade.
I have a dog Named "Ras-I".He senses big fight nights and stands at top of stairs howling and barking on the weekends sort of like when people say a dog can sense earthquakes.
Tonight He went absolutly nuts.....He's STILL up there getting all rowdy ?? Weird but a very smart dog.
Awesome fight and career defining effort from two great athletes and two all around top notch fierce fighters.Make room in the record books and Almanacs![]()
Nice job ICB

Well to answer your question it was a great boxing match mixed in with a brutal slugfest if you understand what i mean. Marquez IMO won the early rounds by using the jab to good effect, in the 4th he badly hurt Vasquez with a left hook and dropped him, but amazingly Vasquez got straight back up and staggered Marquez and then they both stood toe to toe and went at it like crazy men, after about round 6 Vasquez made it his kind of fight by landing good shots on the inside and Marquez was wearing down. The low pentalty for Marquez was BS he only landed a few low blows, and none of them wear south of the border they were all on the belt line, I had Vasquez losing coming into the 12th. But he come out like a raging pitbull and just swarmed all over Marquez and dominated him for the entire round. Marquez went down near the end of the round, only the ropes kept him up, the ref gave Marquez a standing 8 count and Marquez survived the round.
Vasquez won SD here were the judges scorecards.
114-111 Marquez, 114-111 Vasquez, 113-112 Vasquez.
The point deduction made a big difference.
