what a fight from two warriors
what a fight from two warriors
Holy SH** what a fight to end the trilogy...maybe.
These two guys only had like 2 clinches in a twleve rounder(except for the 12th) and fought their asses off. One of the best trilogy matches all time without a doubt.
I read some remarks on Marquez' holding in the final. He was worn out BAD. Remember,he doesn't have the best chin or stamina. He is a KO artist boxer and depends on his jab. All Marquez had to do was to not get knocked down in the 12th and a draw was set for a fourth fight, which may happen anyway. This fight actually came down to the last round, winner of takes the fight. AWESOME stuff.
I did score a 113-113 draw with an even rd. 6 and a 9-9 rd. in the tenth for the low blow ded. for Marquez who was winning the round, imo.
The judges earned their pay last night, that was a real toughie to score, razor thin seperation between the two. These two are like Gatti-Ward with a higher skill level, just unbelieveable. Definately one of the best trilogy's all time, and it looks like its gonna continue. I dont know, but I think Vasquez deserves #1 P4P after that shit.
This was very good fight.I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I thought the low blow calls's were a bit harsh Marquez's thumb was hitting flesh on Vasquez where the rest of the glove landed I thought on the belt.I still think Marquez won in rounds but I had it even on points.Anyway great fight and why wouldn't they fight a fourth time.I'm sure everyone still would be interested with that after much contraversy in the end.
That was a fantastic fight! Very close, but I dont see how anyone can complain about the Vasquez decision. RM would've been brutally KO'd if the ref didnt give him the count. He was beat and battered from post to pillar the whole round.
Rafa on the ref:
"I am a warrior. Let me go down, let me go down. Dont walk in and stop and start a count."
Good point but I think Rafael's camp is making too big a deal about the ref. Marquez would have likely been KO'd anyway and took such a beating that the 12th the round couldve went 8-10 in favor of Vasquez even without a kd.
His complaining takes away more from the fight then the point deduction and standing count. They are disputable, but neither one was flagrant. One thing for sure is he cannot be wanting to face Vasquez again after what he endured last night
I would disagree with getting brutally KO'd.I mean look at the punches the straight right caught him flush in the face and a left hook (vasquez's main weapon) caught him right on the jaw.Marquez ducked down but popped right back up and the ref was already counting.Marquez would have slipped off the ropes like he had been doing the whole night.Without a doubt I thought Vasquez took the 11th and 12th rounds but to me he needed that standing 8 took get a draw.
