Mayweather vs. Delahoya 2 would be a great match up of skill and technique (again) but probably not so entertaining for the people who prefer brawls as opposed to the science of boxing.
Cotto-Mosley had both.... and was damn entertaining (maybe FOY candidate). Credit to PBF for taking on a naturally bigger fighter (Oscar), but Pretty Boy is more intent on fighting "low KO risk" fighters and adding to his legacy, than he is on fighting anyone who might bust up his face.

Hopefully Cotto makes easy work of Gomez (I'm positive he will) and beats the winner of the Margarito vs. Cintron fight to unify the WBA and IBF titles, so that Cotto and Mayweather can fight for the unification of all of the welterweight titles. Nobody has had all of the belts at welterweight since Zab Judah.

Cotto vs. Mosley was a great fight that was very entertaining and was a FOTY canidate, but so was Mayweather vs. Hatton (don't forget that Hatton is the naturally bigger guy)

If the Delahoya vs. Mayweather 2 fight happens at 154 again, then I would bet on it being more of a chess match than a brawl, but if it's at 147 then I would pick Mayweather by a knockout real late in the fight. Floyd has no business at 154 and would be out of his mind to go in there and trade shots with Oscar. But at 147, Mayweather seems a lot more comfortable and has finally grown/adjusted to the weight.

I can't help but wonder if Cotto would have gone up to 154 to fight Delahoya, and if so, would we see the same highly aggressive Cotto that we see at 147? Or would we see a much more cautious, reserved Miguel Cotto? Personally, I would predict the latter. But who knows? Cotto has proved me wrong on more than one occasion.

I hope like hell Floyd doesn't get baited by Oscar "My way or the highway" De La Hoya to fight at 154. Make the Golden Boy get back down to 147 if he wants another go at Floyd. You're right... Floyd has no business at 154. At 147, he beats DLH easily. (By KO if I'm lucky). As for Cotto... as much as I admire him, he doesn't have the height for 154. IMO, 147 should be Cotto's highest division.

From what I hear, Delahoya is fighting Steve Forbes (a super lightweight) at a catch-weight of 150 pounds. Hopefully he's working his way back down to 147 for the Mayweather fight.

I can't think of any other reason that Oscar would be fighting a 140 pound guy at 150 pounds unless he plans on fighting Mayweather at 147.

Don't underestimate Oscar the businessman. He's nothing if not superbly shrewd, especially regarding his own career. He'll end up doing what his "super-computer" spits out in terms of lowest risk with maximum return. A victory over Floyd remains one of Oscar's main goals, so he can go out claiming he beat the world's top p4p. But he'll likely use his clout and business savvy to coerce Floyd into fighting at whatever weight Oscar wants. And with catch weights all the rage now, who knows. Could we see a 153.5 pound fight between PBF and Oscar in the horizon?

I also think this is some kind of ploy to to fight floyd, but if they do fight delahoya still can box his ass off and i think he will be the crap out of cotto if they do.

If Oscar genuinely wants to be the saviour of boxing he should concentrate on being a promoter and hype the fights that actually matter, like the one last Saturday night. If he has to fight again I'd rather it be against Cotto no higher than 150, Cotto will make him fight.

Why didn't Oscar pipe up when Cotto was looking for opposition for the fight now scheduled with Alfonso Gomez, or the fight with Mayorga proposed afterward.

Hi my friend hitmandonny how are you ahhhh.? Well ,we know that this sport means now $money ODLH wanted fight Cotto before Gomez , but then he retract for fight again with Mayweather , maybe he think it going be more money with Mayweather , but this fight is not concrete yet , is probably that he announce this with the objetive if this fight it not make it but then have Cotto to make his last big fight , that is what he want ;retire with a BIG PURSE no matter if he lose or win and for conclution he know what he will get if fight Cotto , he changed his style of fight i dont think that his style favorate him with Cotto.....

I'll be surprised if the fight happens. Cotto would retire Oscar for good.

And whats with the weird font sizes some people are using these days? Just annoying!

Like me. I still think De La Hoya won. When hearing a crowd of about 13,000 shouting BULLSHIT,something has to come to mind that Oscar was robbed.
