He handpicked Mayorga as his comeback fight because a) he knew he would be too skilful for Mayorga and win, and b) he knew Mayorga's outrageous personality would guarantee huge publicity and big ppv sales, whilst at the same time projecting to the public that Oscar was the real good guy, the golden boy with his squeaky clean image who the fans could get behind and support as he took on boxing's bad boy.
Then behind the scenes we see the reality that Oscar fleeces Mayorga taking $8 million dollars to Mayorgas $2 million even though he hasn't fought in two years and Mayorga is defendig champ.
Then we also find out that Mayorga is secretly a real good guy, supplying his old village with electricity and being actively involved in raising living conditions in the slums of Nicaragua.
Now Oscar can bask in the glory, his already perfectly manufactured golden boy image restated and he can go on to make another $20 million dollars or so to spend on more yachts and luxery villa's when he fights Mayweather in September.![]()
