It's touted as being able to give you a total body work out without you actually doing anything on it...
Bottom line is that you need to stress your body in someway and then support it whilst it adapts to be able to cope with this stress.
agreed, but some folk just love the gizmo and the more it costs the better!Our gym has now got one of those vibrating powerplates. I only see ladies on it. Somehow standing on it is like really good, I'll stick to my squats.
The gym I worked at had similar things but worse - you lay down on them!
Power plates are good at removing lactic acid as part of a cool down... that's about it. I've heard that it's supposed to make exercices harder if you do it standing on one but I haven't tried it myself so can't comment.
