.... and don't forget the dedication to training and sacrifice these 'bums' put themselves through.
Just look at Peter Buckley his record is below. The guy has fought at a few hours notice to save a show. He knows he's never gonna be a champion but he's stepped in with anyone at any notice period. A bum... I think not.
won 31 (KO 8 + lost 249 (KO 10) + drawn 11 = 291

I wouldn't call Hopkins a bum, nor would I call Duddy a bum. I would call Duddy garbage, however. I wouldn't even compare him to Gatti in terms of excitement. At least Gatti fought some of the best out there. Duddy hasn't fought anybody out there and he is getting pounded. When he fights one of the top tens in his weight class, he will get obliterated.

Bum and nuthugger.. prob the two words used that i think show no class to the posters who posted them.
i tend not to read the rest of the post when i see them in a post.

Great Post Pride!
From now on I'll no longer use the word bum to describe Peter Manfredo and will instead use your preferred title of 'garbage'.
That is what you meant right?![]()

I like using the word "bum." It's authentic boxing jargon, which refers to a fighter not giving it their all. For instance- Audly Harrison is a bum.

Are you a bum if you are a no show on Friday night fights when everyone was expecting you?

what go is boxing forum if you can't call a guy a bum. toughen up. you don't have to agree with who i call a bum but don't diss the word all together.

very true Pide Of...
but have you noticed that its mostly either young punks that know absolutely nothing about the sport or people that have never boxed in their lives that like to call fighters "bums".
any man who gets in the ring is a damn sight braver than your average asshole on the street who only feels like he can fight when he`s polluted drunk!!!
i think its the most insulting thing a fighter could be called.i hate the fucking word.
Mickey Goldman`s gotta lot to answer for

Take a look at Gatti's record at 24 fight , he fought way worse opposition than Duddy, at this point Duddy's on pace. Yory Boy and Eastman aren't great at this point but better than Gatti's opposition. If he doesnt eventually fight some high ranked guys then you can say that, until then your off base.
