i really wanted to see the fight but i'm gonna have to wait weeks. did oscar really look awesome? everyone going on about him and mayweather. he's no spring chicken and making anything lighter than light middle would not be easy for him. i'd rather see him go up to middle again to rumble with taylor or winky wright.

Every now and then I read a post that just makes NO SENSE! Sorry Sal, this is one of them.

Why in the world would anyone boycott a DLH-PBF fight? We just watched Oscar demolish Mayorga, and PBF is still the #1 p4p guy in the sport. That is an interesting fight.

I think Oscar looked superb last night. De La Hoya against Mayweather is the biggest fight of the year now including the heavyweights.

On that performance Oscar would give Floyd a real tough time.

Personally De La Hoya Mayweather has gone straight to the top of my 'must see' fights of 2006.

Ok I'll say it here and now (bracing myself for the flak)

I WOULD MUCH RATHER SEE MAYWEATHER FIGHT OSCAR DE LA HOYA THAN RICKY HATTON!!!
OSCAR HAS A BETTER CHANCE OF BEATING PBF THAN RICKY DOES!!!

    Ok I've said it, counting sad clicks, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ........................... :P

Oscar did look real good last night, but remember who he was against.
Someone like Mayorga is tailor made for a quick combination puncher with good skills like Oscar. Tito looked a million bucks against Mayorga too, and look what happened to him in his next fight... you can't really use Mayorga as a measuring stick.
Floyd is a whole different ball game. Not to say that Oscar doesn't stand a chance, but Floyd will be SERIOUSLY up for this fight and I reckon he will put in an all time performance if the fight happens.
The one thing that Oscar has got is great power in his punches, so if he catches Floyd it could be lights out... but you know, catching him is the hard part.
I personally would love to see this fight.

Just some thoughts on Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Ricky Hatton...

Floyd isn't massive in size... He isn't the biggest Welterweight... I don't think Floyd going up to 154-160 is at all realistic... he doesn't have the build or frame to do that...

Floyd's boxing ability has never been in question but nonetheless, he wasn't a devastating puncher even at light-welter. His punches bounced off Judah, who doesn't have the best punch resistance in the game...

The constant pressure, power and resiliance of Hatton will tell. Hatton wins inside the distance for me...

because 90% of them didnt realize judah would win 6 rounds

it WAS a joke due to the giant gloves and roger choking zab
maybe your the joke thinking Zab won 6 rounds. First it was 4 then it was 5 now its 6... next it will be 7 right?

I'll be happy to see PBF/ODLH. How about Margarito/Hatton on the undercard. PBF and Hatton is the fight I personally want to see, but both have a few years left in the tank, ODLH doesn't and he deserves one last big fight. I'd also give him a good chance of beating PBF, much better chance than mitchell judah or gatti ever had.
