This is by far not the worst going on over there. It's a modern day Vietnam and these guys are genuinely getting messed up in the head.

I've been doing some interning at a place called the Peace and Justice Center in Santa Rosa, California that specializes in getting soldiers out of their enlistment contracts. So far the center has gotten like 850 (There is an exact count that's pretty close to that) soldiers out of their contracts and the stuff they say is a lot worse then that. Seriously, it's evil but most of these people who go over there are getting messed up in the head. This shouldn't really surprise anyone really. Throw kids into a war zone and stuff like this happens. Not defending anyone but it's the reality of the situation.

Unfortunately, you're absolutely right. There's no telling how much shit far worse than this gets swepped under the rug.

I agree. I was just saying that it is an awful thing. I think the worst part about the whole war is the futility of the thing. troops getting sent numerous times and ostracized.

People in the states need to see this kind of thing,the goverment here has been killing themselves to control the line of info on this thing
Basically all the Bushies learned from Vietnam is,it isnt bad to set small children on fire in the name of the American people,its bad to let the American people know that your doing them this "service"

however people actually got to see pictures and tv of what was going on in Vietnam. It contributed greatly in the publics opposition to the war. A fact noted by all goverments since who have gone on to try and manipulate and sanitise the coverage of war. God forbid you see a dead marine or body bag that might actually make you think people are dying.

As for the it's only a dog comment.....if it were an Iraqi/Afghani solider people might be thinking in some way they deserved it, no way to be thought as justification but people would say it.

If they can't do their job they shouldn't be there. I might get flamed for this but do these particular incidents seem to come more from the US troops than any other country? I don't put it down to there's more of them overthere, I put it down to the whooping nutjobs who join up and the training they get.
