Vazquez-Marquez III better than Castillo-Corrales?

I been thinking about this one....

if you all have not seen Vazquez-Marquez III, then do yourself a favor and watch the replay or get a video of the fight. It definitely will go down as on of the best fights of the year.

I have to say, that this fight in terms of back and forth action and ferocity matched that of the Castillo-Corrales fight.

I would also say that these two fighters, Vasquez and Marquez were more technically sound that Castillo and Corrales.

Would you all say that this fight was a better fight than Castillo -Corrales? Why and why not?

my answer....close...it was as good as that fight...maybe a bit better cause it went the 12 rounds.

Its hard to say Marquez vs Vasquez 3 had a higher level of skill IMO in there fight, but Corrales vs Castillo had more sustained action, where as Marquez vs Vasquez 3 was a boxing match mixed in with toe to toe action. Both had amazing finishes but i would say Castillo vs Corrales had a more dramatic finish, because i could see Marquez wearing down i said that when i was doing RBR that after about 6th round Marquez was badly wearing down. Where as Corrales coming back to stop Castillo come out of nowhere and was totally unexpected, i had my mouth wide open for about 5 minutes after watching that 10th round. I would slightly lean towards Corrales vs Castillo because it had slightly better sustained action and the finish is up there with some of the most amazing things i've ever witnessed in a boxing ring.

Close but my answer is no. Honestly, I thought Castillo-Corrales was gunna end about 5 or 6 times before it did and when it did I was shocked over what happened. It is still hands down the single greatest fight I yhave ever seen and when someone asks me why I like boxing, I did the tape out and show them that fight. They then understand.

As a boxing match Vasquez-Marquez was better.

As a violent slugfest Castillo Corrales may have been better.

But I'd take Vasquez and Rafael anyday.

No I don't think so, as good as it was its still a clear notch below Castillo-Corrales IMO. Maybe the best trilogy of all time but not the best fight I don't think, great fight though. And the skill level for Castillo-Corrales can be underrated, the infighting was so crisp. Neither guy that hard to hit but then again Marquez and Vasquez aren't defensive geniuses either.

I believe that they are both up there but to pick one.........wow!
i think it's impossible both fights had there caliber and just two different styles on how they approached each other.
Now knowing that if Castillo would have made weight for the second and third then maybe it would have been different but i believe that from the trilogy between Vasquez and Marquez and those three aginast just one outstanding match is undebateable.
