I understand what J.T is trying to say but about members kissing ass and grouping with others. I don't know who he means by this but if by people getting a long and actually forming friendship is what he means then i am who he speaks of. Im no vet like he is but I have cleaned up my act and began to love the members unlike before when I only love the forum. Some of us guys and even the few gals, have kind of group together. I actually have a set of guys I rep if I need to past it around to rep a worthy members posting. Those set of guys have earned it from me, those guys earn more then just one rep for one post. The building friendship is what im repping not just one post. I never saw a rule that we are suppose to just rep one post and not for a building friendship.

Another thing about these rep is that we must pass them around if we are to find another post we agree on from a member we just rep. Well what are we to do then give reps to our buddy or did you VETs want us to just give it to you all? I'm ok with that and won't expect anything in return but my whole point is. those I rep are those i believe deserves it cause they are good fellas. guys like andre, bilbo, daxx and mick are the vets i respect most not because i don't respect the other vets. Its just cause those three had showed me that they are good people. Im sure the other vets are great guys too, and its just a matter of time when we get to laugh together. Honestly though, some vets have come on to me like i was suppose to bow down to them. That to me leaves a bad taste in my mouth, it'll just take more time to respect then how the other vets have approach me with .
I see his point exactly. The veterans here have put much time and effort into this place and deserve a special standing. I am new here and already have a punch power of 7. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the rep thing, but I like the idea of tipping my hat to what I feel is a great post.

I think making it so you can give a determined amount of rep is a great idea.

I never advocated anyone owing vets any rep at all or having to bow down, to me good or bad rep is earned, no one should ever say rep is owed to them because of length of membership..

I got one bad rep, so i turned around, thanked them for their comment and gave them a good rep in return. Discussed it and exchanged our thoughts in a polite manner and came to an understanding via PM's.

I don't feel anyone deserves a SC for giving their opinion as we all think differently. Now people who make an ass of themselves and give personal attacks sure.

    I'm Jt with this one.

I prefer the old system but i definately prefer the new forum and i am getting used to the repping system.

Saddo's done a belting job if you ask me.

Did prefer CC/SC to repping but i like the feature of being able to comment on why you've repped.

I like this whole rep thing because it's more personal. You get to slap someone with bad rep if they're being an @s$hole.

It also minimizes unnecessary SCs from cowards.

Now if JT want's to be stingy with his rep, that is on him.

I see JT's point. For example, if you are in the Prediction contest and BG is throwing you 30 reps per week, you can tally a big number fast. With CC's for participating, you could get a boost to your rating from doing the contest or the Sheep's sports book, but it wouldn't give you this huge gain in Rep disproportionate to your posts and time in.

I like this new system just fine, especially being able to tell why you you approve or disapprove and I think it's fine that the hardcore members get to give out more karma. It kind of sucks for me, though. I had a great ratio of CC's to SC's. I also participated in few seasons of sheep's book and one prediction contest. If BG and Sheep had been giving me full rep for every wager and predication, my rep and punch power would be at least triple my current rating.

yeah mate its just another option to the system...

like giving the amount of rep you think the post is worth.

does a round by round post deserver the same points as a post to a article link.

does a sopcast link deserve the same points and a pat on the back post.

all users can rate how they give reps
