So it was quite shocking to see that, but one of the best rounds of that fight had to be the 6th, because Hopkins was floored in the 5th and was badly wobbling at the end of that round, yet he come out for the 6th like he hadn't even been hurt and gave Mercado a battering. I don't know what it is about Philadelphia fighters but they have hearts the size of Texas.
I am not a fan of excuses but man I really attribute alot of Hopkins Problems there on that crazy alltitude and Hopkins not preparing for It.I think it was a combo of punches and his equilibrium being screwed up.Ha Ha,there I go making excuses .With these exceptions and an after the bell bomb by Echols ,Hopkins has indeed shown an Iron Jaw.I agree with ya ,Mercado not a big banger, frankly somewhat of a winger in there late.Spot on...Hopkins whipped him in 6th,A different ref in a different locale may have called Mercado falling into ropes after that onslaught a KD.Think about it....we can honestly say Segundo Mercado...ugh... Gave Hopkins his most physical & toughest fight to date . Calzaghe Might have a say in that.
