It could be the glycogen retention due to the added amount of carb intake.
My Dad commented aswell that my metabolism probably slows when I'm not training.
When I drop aerobic activity and just kick back he reckons my body adds mass.

I've got a brother thats 14 and another thats 17, they both weigh 12 and 13 stone respectively. My Dad's 14 stone or so, real trim.

Although I'm the tallest I weigh in at Light Middle, so he reckons If I weree to rest long enough I'd actually grow to about 12 and a half at least!
