Alright Ice,
I have no problem with Hatton and Witter fighting and I'd enjoy watching. I do believe it will happen (by early 2009 at the latest).
What I do find unfair is people expecting Hatton to jump into another fight with a top fighter straight after a big defeat - surely every fighter is allowed a confidence builder and while Lazcano has been inactive he is not a journeyman.
Secondly while Witter may have the 2nd best resume at Jnr.Welterweight and probably has he hasn't really helped himself by concentrating on Hatton instead of doing major things himself.
Some fans seem to have thrown their lot in with Witter based on his name calling and Hatton having been beaten.(not just here but the majority of Boxing sites).
For the record I am not a huge fan of Hatton or anti Witter, like I say I'd like to see them fight. Just let's not all jump on Hatton's back cos Witter is calling him out.
Alright I have calmed down nowWhats fair is fair though
You Hatton apologists crack me up... But Mayweather gets raked over the coals and called a ducker but Hatton wont step up and fight Witter and make a huge domestic showdown
VD is right, if Witter is a walk in the park than face himI would give Hatton and his fans the benefit of the doubt with a tune up after a loss, but Fuck that you guys get no mercy from me on this. You chirped and your boy got knocked out and most were not even gracious in defeat and you will Lambaste Mayweather for not fighting Cotto tomorrow then no, Hatton his a ducker plain and simple. He got his big payday with Floyd, now fight your country men and give your fans something they deserve...
Hatton hates himso much that he does not want to give him a pay day.
If i hated someone that much the first thing i would want to do is punch him in the face! Hatton is stalling and his excuses are wearing thin, he needs this fight to regain credibility that he is losing everyday this fight is not made. I can't see his problem, i think he would smack Witter around for about 8 rounds before stopping him, it's very strange.
Credibility is a transient thing - it's that old adage of 'only being as good as your last fight' aint it?
Give it 12 months and I'm sure the landscape will look different. If you bear in mind the Floyd fight was in the making a long time before it became public, then it puts into context why some things happen and some things don't.
HBO and GBP don't sign you up and 'just see what happens'...
Thats a silly argument. Witter already said he'd take a small % of the purse, and the fight would also make Ricky way more money than fighting Lazcano.
Also if i hate someone i generally wanna punch them and shut them up. Ricky would have the chance to do so if he fought Witter.
If Ricky is so confident, destroy Junior then he wont be heard of again.
