It depends on how they win or lose the fight just like Vazquez-Marquez. IMO, their p4p status remains unharmed.
If Pac wins this one convicingly (maybe by a KO), he would still #2. That's because the reason is,... last PBF's win was by a KO.
#1 PBF, #2 Pac, #3 Cotto, #4 B-hop... #9 JMM
If Pac losses, I would put him behind JMM ofcourse.
#1 PBF, #2 JMM, #3 Cotto, #4 Pac.
i dont think neither should be P4P no 1, they still wouldnt be the best fighters in the world when Floyd is still semi retired.
On a lighter note i think Marquez should come out of the closet and have a facelift

This is what is so funny about p4p lists, and why they are so objective and even meaningless at times.. Whether Marquez wins or not will not change the fighter he is currently, as with Pac. How each fighter looks on the other hand, can easily give a rough indication of where they stand. THe problem is people talk about where they'll be ranked regardless of how the fight pans out and simply base it on winning or losing beforehand. If I'm not mistaken Pac is currently #2 and Marquez 3?? He's certainly in the top five. So by what means will him losing automatically have you put him at no.9? What if JMM put's up the fight of his life and boxes Pac masterfully, has a big lead on the cards and get's caught late on and stopped? Surely that shouldn't cause him to drop any at all as far as p4p ranking. It's just a bit odd how you'd determine that so decidedly, number 9... I personally don't expect this to change their p4p spots at all, as I think both will try and box their way to a decision this time around. I slightly favour Pac but think Marquez is definetly capable of winning if he fights smart for 12 rounds. I just don't see how you could even begin to think about what this will do as far as changing where either stands until we see the fight.

i dont see it changing at all. i thought p4p is based on what was accomplished by the fighter and not by who he defeated. for example, if hatton defeated floyd, would he get the #1 spot? when chris john defeated jmm, did he take jmm's spot on the p4p list? if jmm loses to pac, would he drop down the ranks? if so, what did the guy below him in the rankings do to earn the next spot up? i dont think it should work that way? what do you guys think?

If either fighter wins convincingly, they make a huge case for number 1. Manny is P4P number 2,for JMM to beat him well would be huge, taking into account his age etc. If Manny were to stop JMM,that would be WOAH.Those 2 scenarios-winner is P4P number 1 for me.More impressive than wins over Oscar and Ricky imo
However,if it's close fought, draw or whatever else or the winner doesn't look great,JMM moves up,but Manny at best, would be joint number 1 or a super firm number 2.
Pac win-#2
marquez win-#2
