Great fightcard, I think Williams will struggle to do any better against Quintana.
I fancy Mora to cause an upset though over Forrest. At the very least it will be a competitive fight imo, he certainly won't get blown out.

Forrest will destroy Mora. And Quintana will again beat Williams
Mora is going to get stopped, I can't see it any other way.
Care to explain why? I actually don't mind Mora, I wouldn't mind in the least if he pulled off the upset and finally gained some credibility, but Forrest is too skilled for him - if that shark attack guy dropped Mora I think Forrest will stop him. Did you see Mora's last fight where he got a gift draw vs. Ayala? Unless he improves dramatically, Forrest is going to KO him.
Yea, I'd love to here a technical breakdown of why anyone would pick Mora to win. This is just one of those fights where people like to pick the underdog for no good reason imo. Could be wrong as I'm not some master of technical evaluation myself, but I just don't see what the hell Mora is going to do to win considering how both have looked recently.
I'd love to see a technical breakdown that gave Mora any advantage, let alone enough of them to win. Like I said, I like Mora, but he's fighting a top-tier fighter, one who has been consistantly fighting good opponents for many years. Also, Forrest, from what I've read, is finally healthy. I doubt Mora will be more competitive than Baldomir was against Forrest. The only way he doesn't get stopped is if he runs all night. Come to think of it, Baldomir probably would have been a more reasonable step up for Mora.
Flash knock downs happen. I think Mora has a pretty solid chin and I don't see him getting knocked out. I have no idea what game plan Sergio has but I hope the fight is entertaining and I hope Mora does not pull out of this fight too. All the other Contenders have stepped up.

Gomez/Cotto

size and speed.
Forrest looked good beating people who are a natural weight class lower then him. But he only looks good nowadays against people he can impose his will on and make take backward steps to eventually succumb to him. He isnt the Forrest that beat Mosley and against Quartey when he couldnt impose his will and had a jab to deal with he looked crap. Mora looked like crap his last match too. But if this fight happens at 160 I'll pick Sergio.
The fact that Sergio does have a good though underutilized jab a good body attack and can fight on the inside with his length and be active during it he has the type of style that could and would cause Forrest a whole lot of trouble, and given his style it's going to be hard for Forrest to land that great uppercut on him. Mora i think is very underrated, and I expect him to cause Forrest trouble, get beat around here and there but ultimately beat Forrest by a close decision maybe 8 rounds to 4. Won't hurt either fighter's career.
Quintana / Williams-- for me is a pick 'em fight. I thought Quintana and Cotto would be a boxing clinic, but the wrong Quintana showed up that night. I thought Williams would pepper Quintana all night, but he wrong PW showed up. Who shows up on this night? When we see, then we will know what type of fight to expect.
Please remembe that CQ did everything WRONG against Cotto--bending in, leaving his head exposed to hooks, on and on... if he does that against Williams, it won't be pretty.
As for Forrest, he should try his best to stay within the top 5 of the division, or good challenges--Mayorga, Bunema, Alcine, Powell, Julio. What does he gain by beating Mora? He beat the contender champ from three years ago?
As for Mora, he has been the biggest case of get $$$, lose your hunger. He looked horrible in every fight since losing the contender, and only his size (NOT his power) is a factor in this fight. I hope Forrest punishes him just so he can go away and be a rich civilian with his mom.
The fight is at 154, not 160 but I don't think the weight is much of a factor for Mora as he's fought at 154 before. From what I've seen Forrest is faster than Mora - the fact that I've seen more of Mora than of Forrest says a lot about how much mainstream exposure boxing gets. I think the sharp, accurace punching of Forrest will test Mora's chin via the volume of clean punches I expect Forrest to land. And like Arawakwarria says, Mora is bigger than Forrest, but it won't be much of a factor because he does not possess a lot of power and because he does not utilize his size by "fighting tall" as Teddy Atlas would say. But the main factor against Mora I think is the difference in experience. I'll probably be cheering for Mora, but I don't think he'll win and I think the loss will be by stoppage.
Edit: I checked boxrec and they're both listed at 6'0 with a 73" reach, so I don't think size will be a big advantage for Mora.
