...Well no one knew who he was when Byrd beat him...he had a torn rotator cuff see if Holyfield would want to try and gut out his torn rotator cuff again or quit if given the chance again.

He has had a bad back for a while and neck surgery...I think he shouldn't fight anymore but I don't fault him for wanting to continue to do what he loves and is good at....no reason to lose respect for him just because his body is wearing down.

Danny Williams had a torn rotator cuff in one fight and didn't quit so why excuse Vitali for the same thing?
    I doubt Holyfield would quit.

Also Vitali quit against Byrd? Ike punked Byrd out in 5 rounds.

Vitali in his prime fighting years lost to a 38 year old Lennox Lewis who had one foot in retirement and went into that fight at his career Heaviest.

So let's all Welcome back Vitali who has already pulled out of a few fights.

Who cares- the guy was overated in the 1st place.

I think Williams had his shoulder dislocated and fought on onehanded for one rnd and got lucky knocking his opponent out...very brave, but how many rnds did Vitali box with his injury ?!?I think people are pretty fast calling boxers a sissy, when injured or ill...And even if they show guts like Abraham fighting 8 rnds with a broken jaw against Miranda they don't get any(or much) credit...so what will it be ?!?...

Yes that was against Mark Potter Johnny he dislocated his shoulder in round 3, but his corner popped it back in again i believe or something like that. But it popped out again in round 6 and he was fighting with one arm and he managed to somehow knock Potter down with a left hook, and then went in for the kill and dropped him another two times while fighting with one arm.

Ok Johnny, You say with Danny it was only one round which is wrong as ICB just pointed out, how about backing up your facts with how many rounds Klitschko had shoulder problems- instead of just trying to prove one argument wrong.

Maybe your just guessing and when it comes to Vitali you don't know.
Check Google if you need to.

I saw the Potter fight and for you to say Lucky is silly - you never saw the fight so why preach about it. Danny showed heart and took heavy shots against a limited fighter who could bang but smelt blood.

Then your on about Miranda - I saw that fight. No point listening to you as your posting half- cocked as your post proved.

I didn't know that Williams fought longer than one rnd I've only seen the youtube vid that someone posted...and like I said before a brave performance by Williams...As for Vitali I don't know how many rnds he fought with his injury ,but so don't you...And he was winning the fight,so he must have been in much agony to give up his title that way...

But thats also not the point...again like I said before people are way to harsh when a boxer pulls out of a fight because of injury or sickness,or quits a fight because of this...and on the other hand people give way too less credit if a boxer fights under these condition...I give you an example:
Zsolt Erdei vs Mehdi Sahnoune...a fight which Erdei should have easily won and at the beginning it looked that way,but then Erdei started having trouble being at the brink of getting ko'ed.But Erdei fought on catching his second wind and scored a tko in the 12th rnd...But what nobody knew before the fight that Erdei went into it with a rib injury, because the fight was already postponed once(Erdei had an infect...) Erdei was afraid of more bad press and took the risk fighting injured...

Nobody gave Erdei any credit for fighting injured, but alot would have bashed him if he pulled out of the fight again or quited during the fight...

i do not fully comprehend the question, does peter have a chance at what exactly?
If its bending down and taking it up the fudge hole it should be easier because Vitali is a tall man and Samuel Peter looks around 5'4.
That being said I do think Klit should stay in retirement, an educated human such as Klitface has more to accomplish using his mind rather than fists.

    Klitface for president of Zimbabwe!

I think people are quick to judge Vitali just because he's never been knocked down they think he can take anything.

When I compared Vitali to Holyfield the purpose of that was "At what point do you say, if I keep fighting with this injury, will it cost me my career?" ...Holyfield screwed his shoulder up, in the first round vs Chris Byrd and he ended up going the distance and you could say because of this he lost his next 2 fights, one by stoppage to JAMES TONEY!

If you want to see fighters get maimed or seriously injured then fine but some guys do think long term and live to fight another day. Vitali stood in there vs Lewis with a sliced up face and even then people call him out for having the fight stopped when he had NOTHING to do with that stoppage other than being cut.

You are all too hard on Vitali's 2 losses. I think he should stay retired but hell if he decides to fight again, I see no reason he couldn't compete with Sam Peter if not totally whip his ass
