Also he often tells the tale of how willie pep won the third round against graves without throwing a punch.. im not sure how but it was later officially disproven..Lol

I like Burt Sugar he's a follower of the sport, he knows the history of the sport and the stories that were told as well...people do like looking back at the folklore of the sport....take baseball for example, Babe Ruth's called shot, Dizzy Dean telling batters what pitches he was going to strike them out with, and Ty Cobb getting stabbed during a robbery chasing the guy down pistol whipping him and still playing in a meaningless regular season game after getting stitched up....boxing isn't the only place where big stories are told....all the ones I told for baseball are true as far as I know but you don't forget folklore....you might forget history though

Hugh McIlvanney for one.but i wouldnt even call Sugar an author.
he`s an annoying asshole waving that cigar around like he`s some wise old sage. did you guys see the ESPN show on the 10 greatest Heavyweights he said Lennox Lewis wasnt in his top 20......HE IS NOT EVEN in his 100 best fighters!!!! opinions are fine but this guy preaches like everything he says is gospel. and he`s not even around THAT long.
i heard him say his 1st fight at the garden was a Gene Fullmer fight.
i think he`s a charlatan and not even an entertaining one!!!!
