I would not have any problem with a draw, if it were without the knockdown, however, with PacMan scoring the knockdown, the split decision is justifiably deserved.

I can't believe how many people here gives JMM the nod when clearly, all he had in this fight was counterpunching. Taking no chances at all. Pac needed to be in harm's way (all out attack) to make the fight. If roles were reversed, and JMM needs to knockdown a PAC the champion, (NOW) to be one again, given his skill set, will be an extremely difficult task.

Pac impressed the judges and his fans. But yea, he kept initiating and attacking and sent JMM on the canvas. JMM did not do (could not) any of those. Don't forget JMM's 6 low blows too.

I will watch the fight again, this time really objectively. I am hoping to see what most people here saw, a JMM unanimous win despite a knockdown of LEGIT VARIETY. Having picked sides and adding the tension of the fight, might have made me blind as to what my eyes are actually seeing. A case in which your heart and mind makes you see conversely, but I doubt it. PACQUIAO wins 'em all. No shame in that too.

The Lampley guy might have something there, stating that gaining that much weight around fight night makes one really weaker. I believe too that in a short fight, 5 rounds or less it is advantageous, but disadvantageous going the full distance. Gaining that much weight 16 lbs! meant PacMan going almost to a point of dehydration just to make the 130 weight. Thereby this also signals that Pacquiao is no longer comfy fighting at 130, his fighting weight should at least be 4-5 lbs heavier.

PacMan comes in, overextends gets tagged. Learns his lesson, tames his beastly agressioin. Fight gets boring. PacMan comes in again, overextends but connects, somebody kisses the floor. Somebody comes in, overextends, emboldened to go toe to toe...gets sent to dreamland! Makes for an exciting fight.

...somebody comes in, overextends, emboldened to go toe to toe, the Pac send them to dreamland. Makes for an exciting fight. The toe to toe seldom happened in this fight, it made the fight a little less exciting, imo.
