All Casamayor's losses have been via points Katsidis will have to do what no-one's done before ...... Casamayor on points

I'll go with the young warrior in this match. Casamayor looked shit last time out.. i had him winning only one or maybe 2 rounds vs a fellow who didn't do all that much either.

I believe that Katsidis will be too strong and action packed for the aging clincher.

The only way i see Joel winning this match is another fix/ gift decision.

It will be interesting to see .

I think I'm going to go with Casamayor. Santa Cruz is actually a very decent boxer with skills, Katsidis has zero skills.

I think Casa knocks him out, even a badly faded Casa.

Joel may have looked piss poor last time out but I still can't see how the bookies have Kats a clear favourite for this one.

He went life and death with Graham Earl for fucks sakes, and thats his biggest win. In fact thats the only opponent hes fought who I ever even heard of!

Casamayor has gone toe toe with the greatest lightweights of the past 10 years, Im amazed the bookies have Kats such a big favourite for this.

In my mind he's going to get starched

I dont understand the hype surrouding Katsidis. He barely got by Amorost and showed in that fight that he can be outboxed and outsmarted. He is strong but his skill is limited. He throws good punches but doesnt know how to put himself in position to throw them especially against a good boxer. Hes a solid basic fighter who hasnt been tested yet and ontop of that he cuts easily. Casa of a few years ago would beat him easily. Now, im not sure, it depends on if he has anything left. I give him little chance against Campbell or Diaz if he wins this one unless hes improved a lot.

The Katsidis-Amonsot fight was prolly the most brutal fight I've seen in decade.

Michael was bleeding in the outside, and Czar was bleeding internally.

Nate Campbell was 23-0(21) before Casamayor dealt him his first loss. A lot has happened since that fight five years ago, but Katsidis 23-0(20) might have the same fate and get outboxed. But, like Campbell, he can rebound if he does lose to Casa. It all depends on what Casamayor shows up. Casa has been down this road many times before. Katsidis hasnt and that may be the deciding factor.

Casamayor, like Amorost is a southpaw. I think Katsidis has problems with southpaws and good boxers. Casa isnt what he used to be but if hes more prepared than he was last time out he will pull out one last good performance and outbox Katsidis. Just wait till sunday, people will be saying Katsidis is overrated. Casa will make him look bad.

Casamayor is going to be the best & most experienced opponent Katsidis has ever faced. Although he is not what he used to be he knows every trick in the book & like Hopkins is known to bend the rule to his advantage. Katsidis is gonna be in the fight of his life the whole way IMO! His power is his greatest advantage, if he can pressure Joel throughout without getting to cut up or damaged he maybe able to take over in the championship rounds as Casamayor fades. I can't see a KO but Katsidis could take the decision.

I sort of had the same thoughts until I recently watched some of Casamayor vs Corrales which was at the end of 06... Casa actually looks extremely faded in that fight as well, Chico was just so damn weight drained he couldn't do anything about it. Before that I remember Casa had fought on FNF and looked very average. I don't think his last fight was just due to the layoff and something he'll be able to shake off in training. He has been rapidly declining over the last few years imo, hasn't looked good at all since he was shafted against Kid Diamond. You've also got to remember the bookies know how each fighter looks leading up to the fight, they hear things we won't, maybe Casa is getting clobbered by his sparring partners. Wouldn't surprise me. I don't think this fight will really come down to Kats being very good, Casamayor has faded enough to lose to him though.

What you gotta remember is how hungry Katsidis will be, really he's only a 'interim' champ and so if he wins this he will bag the Ring belt meaning technically he would be considered #1 lightweight in the world

    I've got Katsidis PTS.

So 5 ko/tko's out of his last 6 fights against Ranee Ganoy (TKO 5/12), Giullermo Mosquera (TKO 1/8, Nonoy Gonzales (TKO 5/10), Jikkirt Suwunnalirt (KO 2/8, Graham Earl ( RTD 5/12) and Czar Amonsot (UD 12/12) means nothing? Kats is favourite and for good reason.

That opposition is substandard. Casamayor is faded, but he's still a street better than that crowd. Kat will get exposed big time. He won't hear the final bell.

Can you tell my confidence levels go up in direct proportion with the amount I good Friday ales I consume. Don't worry Katsidis fans, my last drunken prediciotn was that Tszyu would take Hatton to school...
