Anyone can post a lot, but there is no indication regarding the quality of those posts or the respect given by others at those points in time. A case of in with the new and out with the old there.

Sacrifices have been made to try and modernise the site. Sacrifices that include my hard won CC's and the SC's too!! I liked how things had evolved before but I supppose its impossible to go back and recalculate everything. Maybe we could ammend the current system somewhat, but if the general concensus is that people dont care too much then I suppose there is little to do but keep on posting.

Nah I'm sure if enough people understand what I'm saying they will want to either change back or at least make changes to this system.

At the end of the day if we are going to have a reputation system at all we should make sure its a fair one that rewards everybody for the contribution they make to the site.

A lot of people wont care at all but its still nice for for everyones contribution to be fairly acknowledged.

Your rep is now half of what it once was, many others have suffered much worse.
I dont think what you are saying is terribly difficult to comprehend. It all makes sense enough. Personally I wish nothing had changed regarding the CC system. It worked and any newcomer could join in and start climbing if they worked hard. Take El Gamo and ICB. They joined at a later point than me and worked their way on through. It took time and a lot of effort and it was good how that worked. Now it is too easy to climb up and takes little real effort. If you have been inactive then you start from scratch. It isnt fair. No.

Perhaps we could have a poll to gauge opinion about the system and how people would prefer the system to be. My vote would be for ammendment or else the old system to make a comeback. Im an outdated old fuddy duddy though so Im not sure if others would be inclined to agree!!
Cheers Miles, glad you are stepping up! I think a poll would be a great idea, but lets wait until Saddo speaks on this and hopefully if he is agreeable let him run a poll and or decide what we should do.

If I make a poll a lot of people will just abuse me without even reading the postings!

I think Saddo will understand where we are coming from though having created the site and obviously being here since the beginnning!

If people like JT Rock and others speak up as well hopefully something can be done.

It seems like everyone who has posted, even those who think I'm sad for caring either way, agree that this new system is flawed, so if half the people agree with me, and the other half dont care either way then maybe Saddo will be pursuaded to revert back to the tried and true Saddo formulae.

The phrase if it ain't broke don't fix it is very apt in this case!

And lets not forget that this problem is only going to get worse and worse as peoples punch power increases daily.

I calculated my punch power by Christmas will be well over 5000!

That means I could welcome a newbie and with one fucking punch give him a higher rep than CutMeMick has now

    Completely fucking nuts!

Within a couple years if Wacko doesnt come back he wont make the top 1000.......seriously!

Yes, best to leave it all in Saddos hands really. By trying to envisage how things could be in 6 months time, then yes, some of the power punch ratings could get seriously screwy and not representative of how the site has evolved over a long, long time.

The funny thing is in time people will start to 'get it' but by then it will be too late.

At least now it's early enough to be put right.

I don't think anybody will want a system where most people have several times more punch power than they have posts but that is where we are heading!
